Mohawk core question - asym. diff. RG numbers?
« on: April 02, 2008, 06:25:45 PM »
Well, I know that Visionary does not publish the asym. diff. RG numbers of their cores, just labeling them as "strong MB" or "weak MB".

But I am very interested in the Gladiator Pearl to come - and I'd like to know the asym. diff. RG number, just for reference how "mild" its influence might be. It is the only thing taht worris me about the ball.

From the core shape, I'd expect it to be less than 0.01". But if anyone has some better information, I'd really appreciate it

Thanks in advance and best regards

I had asked Jason, while he was here on BR.com, to do just that. I think he said he'd consider it.

I doubt the MB strength of the Gladiator core is worth considering while drilling.

I still wonder what the strength of the Immortal's MB and the AMB's MB are!

Yes, the AMB/Immortal's MB strenth is another mystery - I would not put them on a very high level, too, but well above the Mohawk's MB strength /(out of the belly and from what I have seen so far).

Thanks so far, but if anyone knows something reliable, please slip a note

the Rg diff on the Immortal is  high enough that they exceed existing regulations.

 Rg diff= .078 ?

Yes, the Immortals have a super-high diff.  They were approved before the new differential rule went into effect so they are legal.  But that's not the differential they're talking about.  The mid-diff is the only on asymmetric balls and is a measure of how strong the asymmetry is, how much influence the mass bias location has on ball reaction.

Visionary's asyms are supposedly pretty mild by today's standards, though they don't publish the mid-diffs or spin times like other manufacturers do.
