Title: Help on layout for Immortal Solid
Post by: handy zone on August 08, 2009, 03:54:59 AM
I want to use on fresh THS track area wood lanes. I am speed dominate 275+ revs. pap 43/16x11/4up. I am thinking to drill pin under ring rev.leverage 3 3/8 w/hole below axis.Ball has 31/2"pin.
On the other hand I have a Immortal pearl drilled with the pin up 4" with mb toward thumb and I love it. It has a strong moved even in some oil.
Would the rev. leverage drill be to strong for the solid and experience burnout
  Any help appreicated.

PS.I am thinking about joining and becoming a staff reviewer.

The #1 mistake that everyone seems to make with the Immortal Series is drilling them too strong.

I'd consider drilling the Solid much like your Pearl if the Pearl works that well for you.  If the Solid ends up too strong you can tweak the cover a little to make it more useful.

3 3/8 leverage on that ball would be WAY to much for THS track area.    If you wanna play the track area with this ball id suggest 5x4 or 5x3  and take the surface up to 2000 or 4000

Thanks guys, I think your right. I`m gonna try a 5x4 pin up. Try that at box then go from there.

You might even try 5X5. The MB strength isnt listed, but Im gonna guess they are kind of strong. With the huge diff and strong cover, the ball is gonna roll early as it is. No sense in putting the MB too close and making it worse.

From what I have seen the Immortal Solid cover is super strong.. The differential is also super high.  Drilling leverage would more than likely be way too strong and over flare for all but the lowest rev bowlers.
