A friend of mine was sold a sienna-colored AMB Centaur ball recently. He is a classic down and in, smooth stroker with about half a rev to his name. After bowling with this ball for three weeks with no success on a medium, house shot......barely getting a wrinkle out of this ball, and claiming it a dud.....I decided to test it for him.
I picked up his ball, the third frame of our first game, and literally played all angles of the lane. The deep inside from 4th arrow. Down and in, classic, straight down ten; and then played the middle of the lanes around 15 and out. This ball performed like a CHAMP!! Could not believe the response I got from this ball, from all angles. I finished up shooting 240ish, and told him I would buy it from him as soon as he was done playing around.
I did note that this ball likes oil, and it let's you know when to put it up by pinging all sorts of back row pins!
Don't know how old this piece is, but it works great! I was very impressed! This was my first time, ever, throwing a Visionary piece! It won't be my last!

Probably this ball:

You know....when I went to the VSP site, that was the ball I was drawn to, which it most closely resembled in color....but the ball I used was definitely a solid!
Go figure.

The only other one I can think of is this:

But you said AMB Centaur and the Bronze is the only one close to "sienna".
-
Since you said AMB Centaur, I think it is the Bronze Centaur, the pearl AMB Centaur.
Just so you know, there are still some 14# and 16# NIB available, but not for long.

I guess I should have read more closely where you said it was a solid. :)
The solid AMB Centaur was more of a reddish color.

Do you know if the ball had the word 'blem' on it under the serial number? If so, it could have been a color blem ball.

I'll check tonight to see, and get back to you!

Jesse, most Visionary balls start with SL and then the first two numbers after the SL are the last two numbers of the year. So SL08 will be 2008.
You wondered how old the ball was in an earlier post.
-
Cool! Thanks!

For anyone who wonders (pun) what the SL stands for, it is St Louis where the balls are made. Some Visionary plastic balls started with other letters like AX (Korea).

The Bronze Centaur was my first VBP ball. and I HATED it. later in talking to Jason he confirmed that I prob would of hated that ball. In his words that ball was designed for more of a stroker type of player, and back then I twisted the hell out of the ball.

Yup! It definitely was more reddish in color. Not much black mixed in though....and had the numbers of SL08 in the serial number. Not a blem!
