Decisions decisions
« on: October 06, 2005, 01:40:15 PM »
A few people have recommended Visionary gear to me, so I'm thinking of giving them a go. After something for medium/medium with carrydown (I see a lot of rubbish backends). I tend to have higher ball speed + low-med revs + low axis rotation/tilt. A quick browse of the Visionary site gave me a fairly short list:

AMB Solid (it's... pink?)
Charcoal Executioner (can still get a few locally)

Pin over bridge drillings go far too long for me, so I was thinking something along the lines of leverage with the CG at 1:30 (strong arc). I'm open to other ball choices/layouts, though

Yeah,

You will probably want to hit it with the polish.
Like B4$ said about 800 or 1000

Threw a 610 last night, which would have been a lot higher without my splits. And my thumb slug coming loose in the first frame, the drilling machine seems to have made some wonky holes. 203, 218, 189

X X X X X X 81 X 6- 9/X

4-6, 4-7-9-10, light 7 pin. Argh Shot seemed fairly typical, though I had no luck at all with shots pulled left, split city. Large volume of oil in the middle, bit of an OOB outside 5. Was releasing 10 down to 7 at the breakpoint and crushing the pocket for the first two games. Started leaving 10 pins in the last game (running out of energy?), shifted to 7-7 with a more behind the ball release and a bit more ball speed and they started carrying again.

Very happy with this ball so far, it's stronger than my Storm X-Factor Vertigo (and doesn't stink), and I actually feel comfortable bowling on medium conditions. Few tournaments coming up soon, so I might get to see some actual oil put down Now to decide if I should redrill the Vertigo or try to rustle up a Frankie May...
