Not really unless you rip the cover off the ball.  That is why they made the AMB Particle.  I think this ball works best for those who are slightly speed dominate on medium to heavier mediums.  OOB, the Frankie May will do a better job since it is 400 grit.  Also, did not realize that the Immortal Solid was polished out of the box.  I knew the pearl was.

CORRECTION!!!  The I.S. is 1000 OOB.  There is no polish on this ball.  The I.S. has the same cover as the FM but at a higher grit surface and higher revving core.
