Title: Layouts on Immortals
Post by: Pdiddy on November 03, 2009, 06:24:34 AM
Has anyone tried the RICO layout on either one of the Immortals?
I have drilled a few of the solids up and have never gotten a good reaction and I like this layout and was wondering if anyone has tried it and what it did for them.

My first Immortal Solid I had originally drilled with the pin somewhere above the fingers, I think, so it would have been about a 4-1/2 pin to PAP for me and I did not like the reaction or lack of it, that I was getting.  I had it plugged and redrilled Rico.  Now, it is a soft arcing hook that does not cover a lot of boards but mixes the pins up quite well when I hit the pocket.  Not a hook-monster, but a ball that carries well for me.

I picked up another Immortal Solid used and that one has the pin just below and to the right of the ring finger.  That one reacts much better than my original drilled Immortal Solid did.  It also seems to cover more boards than the Rico layout one with a more pronounced backend.

With the high Diff these ball have i am not sure they will like the RICO layout unless you have very low revs.
If you have any hand it will burn up too early

You might be able to do a modified RICo and it would work good. Instead of leaving the pin in the center of grip move it closer to you track, thus giving you a longer pin to pap
