In the spirit to keep this forum alive....I thought I would post last nights endeavors with VBP. Last night I used an NPT Scorcher and G-3 on a house shot locally and shot a decent set.

A buddy Casey Gibney who has become a VBP user the last couple of years used a Crossover in the same league and shot 816.

riggs wrote it up in his blog here. Gibney shoots 816

Nice bowling! Glad to see someone post too.

I think it was almost a month ago that a post was listed under visionary. Sad to see. Hopefully things are going well for VBP and people just are not posting like we did.

To answer your question...No.

I am still rolling the Violet Gargoyle. And the Crossover is the ball. I absolutely love the predictability and carry of it.

I have been in a slump the last two months, as far as league has gone, but I have been rolling the V. Gargoyle well in pot hi/lo doubles. I haven't practiced like last year and that has hurt some. Once the stress of the Holiday season is over, and I have full-time employment, I'll be back with some VBP figjam to share. lol.

I got the new Mixed Breed. I missed on the layout though. I use an IT* thumb insert, which takes out a lot of mass and weight. I could not drill the x-hole where I wanted. I believe that the ball specs were way wrong for me. I drilled it to be strong, which it is, down and in that is, but that is not my game. I will get another M.B. or wait for the pearl version.

Still use a Blue/Green Centaur weekly. Should get another. I've had them in 14 lb, 15 lb, and 16 lb for various reasons. Saving the 14 lb for if I get older and have to step down in weight.

With the possible demise of Lane Masters, I am looking for a new company to switch to. Where does one purchase VBP products? I sent a reply on their website, but have yet to hear back from them.

Pat,

If looking at staying with one manufacturer I'd look at the Test Staff. Balls come directly from VBP. There are a few on-line retailers. Also check with your driller and his distributors they are available if your driller asks. Otherwise have your driller contact VBP.

Jason Wonders is the guy you want to contact but Jason is a busy guy wearing more than one hat. Jason can give you ideas on layouts that will match your stats. Some are drill specific so I'd get in touch with Jason so you get good layout info. In many ways being a small manufacturer pouring their own stuff there is a correlation between LM/L and VBP.

Pat, Scottss33 is dead on with Jason at Visionary. I recently came back from 2 years off of bowling, I had used Visionary in the past. I decided to go back to them and i'm VERY glad I did. I shot a 300 in October with my Frankie May, then purchased a Mixed Breed and a Ogre Urethane thru the test staff. The Mixed Breed is a good fit into my (still building) arsenal. I got the recommended layout from Jason after talking with him and explaining what I was looking for, took me a few games to get used to the ball since then it is a very predicting rolling ball. Shot 791 with it about a month after drilling it, I will give a review of the ball soon. I would certainly look into VBP, very good company that stands behind there good equipment and are a pleasure to deal with.

I have tried most of the various ball companies over the years including LaneMasters/Legends. All put out good products, but most never held up past the 70 - 90 game threshold. LaneMasters put out high quality balls, but they just did not matchup to my game. I went with Visionary during the past year and I never looked back. Every ball is high quality and long lasting and works for my game. I signed up for the ball test member program and with the help of Jason Wonders I have a great arsenal set up to handle a variety of lane conditions. For those that haven't thrown a Visionary ball you are really missing out. The staff at Visionary are great people to work with.

I've used Visionary in the past and they make a great product with superior customer service! You can call them and talk to Betsy and she'll connect you with Jason, if he doesn't answer the phone!!!

Train a child up in the way they should go and when they are old they will do some "Damn Good Bowling", be a "DV8" and not turn from it, besides bowling starts with a Big B!

As some others have mentioned about the quality of their products. My Frankie May probably has over 100 games on it i've resurfaced it a few times and regular cleanings after use, ball still has a very good consistent roll on it. Not trying to push their products on anyone just letting everyone know my personal experiences with there products.

VBP makes some of the best equipment out there... Their only downfall for me is that they arent PBA Product Registered anymore. So I'm unable to use their stuff in PBA competition so i dont use their stuff... Not because I am boycotting them but because it doesnt make sense to me to get used to stuff i cant use in the tournaments I bowl. If I ever drop my membership I will definately drill their stuff again....

Apparently Jason answered Pat Patterson so he should have some info by now.

My Blue Warlock is still going strong after hundreds of games. VBP does make long-lasting equipment, but I am impressed with their customer service.

Even though I use balls from many various companies, my high game and high series came with Visionary balls, so I have to say that their products match up to me.
