My fall arsenal
« on: June 13, 2008, 11:12:53 PM »
Decided to go with an all-Gargoyle lineup this fall. I just seem to match up great with the Gargoyle line and have had much better success, than say with the AMB lineup. Had the Solid, Bronze and Particle and they just didn't match up with my game or the lanes I bowl on. Not a shot on the balls by any means, I just didn't match up well. Gargoyles are another story. They seem to excel on our house's "heavier" shot and read the lanes very easily. Since adding the Granite and Slate Blue, I can't see any possible holes in this arsenal. Anyone? Gsback is still trying to talk me into adding a Gladiator Solid in there, but not sure where that one will fit. Maybe by fall when jkiser01 parts with his!!!

Thoughts, comments welcome. Anyone else love the Gargoyle line as much as I do?

Spike,

I actually sold the Cell and roughed up the Gladiator Solid with a 1000 abralon pad. I am hoping that ball will take over for my Cell for now. I have some more new stuff coming as it gets released..

I will make sure to give you 1st dibs on the Gladiator Solid if I sell it!! gsback already has dibbs on the Gladiator Pearl but I really like that ball so far, just need to get used to the violent back end reaction that ball has..

PS: Nice lineup by the way, between you and Gary, you guys are the new spokesman for Visioanry stuff!!

No Greenie?!?

I personally love the Gargoyles (as they are what sold me on Visionary). I throw the Green, Granite, and Slate Blue (and am about to plug/drill 1 of my clear too). I never purchased a Violet, because I figured it'd be too close to my Cuda/C, which has been a mainstay in my bag since '97. I must say, that I have matched up better to the Gargoyle line than a lot of other popular equipment lines over the years (Columbia Reaction and Messenger lines, Storm X-Factor line, Brunswick Zones to name a few). The Gargoyles hit and carry like mad, and have gotten a lot of attention from others at the alley in years past and present...like the insane backend reaction of the Green, how smooth the Slate Blue is for me as a spare ball, and then of course people asking why I throw a round piece of concrete. I've put MANY games on all three, and wouldn't trade them in for the world.

PS...the more I typed on here about how much I love them, the more I'm thinking about ordering a Violet on Monday....ugh! what does the fiance say....like I need a hole in the head, right?!?

****ON EDIT**** I looked at the pics, and realized that there IS a Greenie in the mix (was wondering why you had 4 pics of the Slate Blue...LOL! I must ask though, the one plugged finger on the Violet, was someone practicing swirls in plug (which is an art if mastered)?

Willy,

No, the plugwork on the Violet wasn't intentional. My driller did it by accident, no biggie. At least she'll try to color match the used stuff I bring her. Not a fan of clear plugs for some reason. Thing I like the best is that every ball I take to her comes back nearly identical as far as fit and feel go! Guess being a ball whore has it's advantages...

Big Willy, I did the same thing.  I looked at the Greenie and my first thoughts were that Spike roughed the surface up.  And then I remembered he still had the Greenie (instead of already shipping it to me....which he should have done!!)

I agree on the Violet.  That ball really is a well rounded ball.  Close to the overall performance of my High-Rev....not as strong perhaps, but more well rounded!!

G,

I must've hit my head on something the day I said I'd trade the Greenie for your Super Flip! I admit I don't get to use it a whole lot at my home house, but you KNOW it will be in the bag next time I'm down your way. Then I'll put it up against your OP or GP! That would be interesting...
