New Addition to the Family

I would like to announce the newest addition to our family.  And this time I'm not talking about bowling balls.  On June 2nd my wife gave birth to our third child, Zachary Thomas.  He's 5lbs 5oz. and 19.75 inches long.  He's a premie and on oxygen.  He hasn't been able to breath comfortably with out assistance but atleast he was able to start eating 2 days after birth.  His two older sisters, Kaitlyn 3 and Meghan 2, love seeing him thru the nursery window.  They just can't wait until they can have baby Zac home so they can spoil him.

Tom - Congrats.  My "baby" turned 21 on June 1.  Enjoy every moment, the years go too fast.

I know what it's like to have a son born early and to be put on oxygen. But trust me it won't be long before he will be out of the hospital and running around the house getting in to everything.

Hey Tom,  Congratulations!!!  I know how it feels to have a premie.  My daughter was 8 weeks early, and my son was 6 weeks early.  Fortunately I must have a "large baby" gene, because they were both good sized and their lungs were fully developed, but the fear before they were born was like nothing I have ever felt before or want to again.  I can't imagine the mixture of emotions you must be going through right now.

Hang tough, and I'm sure the little guy will be armwrestling you in no time.  I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Thanks Jason it means a lot that you stopped in and wrote what you did.

Thank you to all the posters, it's a rush to see people I've never met lend a little inspiration and motivation to get through the day.

It's 11:30p.m. here and I just got back from holding my boy in the nursery rocking him for hours.  He was doing great for about 5 hours today.  Off the oxygen and everything.  Then we had a scare when is heart rate and Oxygen bottomed out.  He's also having trouble eating and is now being assisted with a tube down his throat every other feeding.  Back to the drawing board.  We're wounded here but are heads aren't down and we won't give up.
