New arsenal???
« on: August 04, 2003, 06:35:56 AM »
Okay all Visionary fans--- still thinking about joining
test staff.  With the Slate Gargoyle coming out, do any of you
think there could be a better lineup than the Slate, Green and
Granite Gargoyle?  I already have a White Dot for the damn 10 pin

Now that one can assemble an arsenal of Gargoyles, does anyone think that Visionary wil come out with other Executioners to create one with them as well?  How about oher Gryphons?

Someone on this site mentioned that Visionary was going to release two other Gryphons.  One Gryphon to be weaker than the Burgundy particle ball, and the other to be weaker than the Blue Sparkle rersin ball.  That will be four Gryphons all in total.

Also was said that Visionary will be killing everything in the future to just sell Gargoyles, Gryphons, and Executioners only.

I also do imagine in time they would have and arsenal for only Executioners as well, but you can do well with just the Crimson and Charcoal alone.

I wish I had other info I could add to this, but I am only forwarding the info I read in another post.

Even with the loss of the DC core, Visionary has one of the better line-ups available regardless of your style or preference.  The addition of the Slate Gargoyle just makes your choices that much better.  If your more into skid-flip, stay more with the Gargoyles and the Blue Gryphon.  If you like more of a mid-roll, stay more with the Executioner line and the Burgundy Gryphon.  If you need something to hook at your feet.  Dull up the Burgundy and drill it for a very early roll.  And now if you need something for toasted lanes there is the Slate Gargoyle.

As far as any speculation on more new balls.  Not for a while.  That's just not how they work.  Talked to them the other day and right now they are VERY busy getting caught up with what they already have sold to new distributors and such.

Maybe, just maybe there may be something coming as far as a new spare ball.  If you'll notice the Clear Gargoyle has dropped of the face of the earth.  BowlingBallReviews doesn't have it on their site any more and neither does Visionary.  This would do more to finish out their line for the new fall season.  Again, we'll see.  (Any that are out there and undrilled are going to be collectors items for sure!)  Myself, I still have a Red Amulet and a fresh undrilled one in the box just in case!  Wouldn't mind if they made a remake of that, even if they put a version of the Gargoyle or Executioner core in it.  Give Lane 1's XXXL some competition for sure as they seem to be the only company at the moment sporting a polyester ball with a full weight block.  Read the reviews for that little gem and the Buzz Saw bunch is loving it for extreme dry and spare shooting.

Bowl well!!!!

Thanks for everone's input.  I have been thinking of going to
a Visionary arsenal (especially with the Test Staff program and if
I can find a local pro-shop that won't nail me to the wall with drilliing).
Anyways, it seems to me that with the Gargoyle lineup, I can't imagine too many
conditions that would not be covered, except maybe really extremes.  Even then
I would imagine adjusting could be made, or even "dulling" up the Granite would
take care of all but the true floods.

Get yourself a Scorcher while they still have them.
Best ball for a true flood that I have seen.

MAn I am going to miss the DC core.

The excecutioner core seems to be pretty good, I am looking
at building a tournament arsenal with them, as they are early
rolling, and that is what I am looking for.  The DC work in
leagues for me.

SO Ececutioner, Gryphons, and Gargols that's going to be it for a while?
Sounds pretty decent.  Still need to try a gargol core though.

The Crimson Executioner is a gem in disguise.  Even though it has a pearl cover, that heavy midlane movement allows you to play on more oil.  Quite frankly my Crimson is a monster, drilled 5x4 with the MB strong, it has a mean backend reaction.  It definitely will turn over on medium to heavy oil while I'm playing straight up, and will recover well when swinging lighter patterns with hardly no energy loss.  This ball is soooo good for me, that I don't need to bring anything else when I bowl.

I really want to get a Charcoal Ex, but I'm afraid with my revs, it won't make it half way down the lane before flying off.

The Gargoyle core seems to have just a bit less midlane movement and a tad more backend, but the hit and carry are no different.  That Granite is one of the most versatile balls I've ever seen thrown.

Yeah, the charcol is good for a tournament shot.  I would like to get a crimson and drill it 10:30 leverage and see if it acts like my old Rhino Pro X.
I haven't been able to really figure out though where the purple fits in.

www.bauerproshop.com has the Purples on special for $90 in 16#.  I don't where it would fit in either except for tournies, but at that price I can't resist them.  They also have Blue Sparkle Gryphons for $85 in 16#, and 14# Midnight Scorchers for $80.

Jeff good suggestions, but where is the blue Gryphon in there?? lol got to have something for nice house shots.

I'd like to see this maybe as an aresnal.

Burgandy gryphon(1) dull in box,
Burgandy gryphon(2) shined to 1500
Blue Gryphon box finish
green gargoyle, and then slate gargoyle.

I like the executioners but i save them for tournaments. and i like the supreme mid lane roll of the gryphon line up.

Yes, Yes they do!

the new burgandy for sure. I was playing with a friend throughing a x factor deuce, and i found the two balls. similar in some ways, but the deuce, would have a tendance to go longer and sometimes skid too far. I would dub the burgandy gryphon an "x Factor Deuce but particle cover" This ball is way better.
