My understanding is that it is a new domestic ball.  A "modified" Ogre core (with a wrap to lower the RG) and a pearlized shell with a "light load" of the same particles used in the Ogre Particle.  I personally can't wait to get my hands on one.

"It is a light load particle pearl, with a denser version of the ogre core with a full wrap.  This lowered the rg, and increased the differential significantly from what you would see with the ogre.

Ball rolls great, and surface changes can make the ball do a lot of different things.  Out of box it will handle heavier oil patterns (not floods but fairly heavy).  It will also be the first ball to include our new corporate logo."

What Jason sent me earlier today

I went to the Visionary web site to check out the specs on this ball. What I saw was the "BIG" announcement of the Samurai, which came out almost exactly ONE YEAR ago.

This forces me to ask this question: Is Visionary Bowling products actually still in business?"

Is this all hoopla one big joke?

Yep, they are still in business and do a ton of business overseas. Only problem is the factory is right around the corner from the Ferguson riots north of St Louis. Try to get everything moving in the right direction with that going on. Not happening.

WOWZERS!

Jason doesnt  really care about facebook, or for that matter the  website any more. He is old school in his thinking on certain things. I have asked him about updating and he just shrugs it off..

Facebook and websites are 2 important ways to grow your business now days. To be old school is fine but having a up to date website is a must. I have checked it out a few times before I heard about this ball. I thought they closed shop and disappeared just like morich did.

Agreed, I have talked to him as well as some others. You just never get a justifying answer. Jason has been fighting a illness and Jason is a lot of things to Visionary, he can only work a few hours a week because of this. They are a small company in a very competitive business when you have to do a lot of the work and you feel bad it can be hard. I think they are focusing on the business they have, which at the moment is international orders are doing a lot better than domestic.

In this day and age, for a company to ignore Facebook and web sites is to all but shoot yourself in the foot. and that's coming from a Facebook hater.

That's a shame. Really.

Speaking as a bowler who loved many of the early Visionary balls,
If Jason is the only Wonder family member left to do all that is necessary to keep Visionary afloat, and he is ill enough that he can't spend the requisite amount of time to do what is required, maybe it's best if it dies an honorable, peaceful death now, rather than to try to hang on by its fingernails,  until even the faithful can't support the product.

Keeping a bowling ball company afloat takes a lot of very hard work and dedicated, resourceful people. It is strictly a non-trivial job that takes more than 40 hours a week, when you have all the resources necessary.

Well he still has family members in the business, his brother is doing more and more. Jason is a proud man like most of us would be. Coming from a family business myself, I understand trying to keep it going and survive. Sometimes pride can get in the way and cloud your judgement. I am guilty of this myself. Sometimes you make harsh decisions in business to stay a float, including cut backs in employees, insurance, marketing, ect.

I want to make it clear I am in know means speaking for Jason or Visionary. Just giving my two cents from my own similar situation owning a business..
I wish them the best and hope they can turn it around, they really make quality balls.

In my conversations with Jason, his brother has taken on a larger Roll in production.

Not sure about Ball development tho.

Jason did state that the overseas business is taking up ALOT of their time which put development behind quite a bit.

He may not be Facebook or Website freindly, but he is a genuine great person with nothing but good intentions.

I will continue to support them as best as possible.

Talked to Jason, they are working on a new website that will be ready in April. He said Raven info will be going out to staffer hopefully in the next couple of days. Just a heads up for anyone that still supports VBP..
