New Releases- When???

Intensly curious about the Ogre Pearl Particle and where it will fit in the line up. I'm hoping between the O.P. and O.S. That would likely solve the tweener hell that I'm wollowing in with the O.S. These Ogre's are so good they leave me wanting more.

Interesting to see what Jason says about that.  Unique ball to say the least, perhaps its that strange NPT stuff mixed with urethane or reactive.  To be honest I havent got a clue.  The blend would suggest two different materials used.

Just in case not every saw it, here is my question:

Regarding the composition of the Purple Ice's coverstock, I saw this description: "Light load particle pearl ball with a blend base."

Does that mean that the base in which the particles were embedded
was a blend of urethane and resin?

You are absolutely right. At the time we released the Purple Ice Executioner, the idea of a particle pearl was a little different than it is now. Back then, the goal for a PP was to create a ball with a consistant roll, yet still hit and carry like a reactive. We combined a few basic urethane polyols with a reactive blend, and threw in a soft, non-abrasive particle to create the Purple Ice. It wasn't the most aggressive ball nor the most forgiving, but it was consistant and hit very hard. I think part of the reason that it didn't go over as well as anticipated, was because the ball did not correct user error. If you released the ball differently or missed your mark, most of the time you knew it. However, it did blend out tough/spotty conditions so that bowlers could use it on sport or tournament patterns.

I read it and more or less that's what I surmised in saying that Visionary didn't have a particle pearl in how the mainstream thinks of particle pearls.

The Purple Ice was very condition specific unless you were a real fluffer.  I have a fudge knuckler friend who can use it on just about anything that is not complete toast because of his style.

Same can be said of the Midnight Scorcher/AMB Particle that are very condition specific, but that's what's great about Visionary in that they have just about everything covered except for the mainstream particle pearl.  

Until some folks ran off Ron Hickland he would give some very specific reasoning about Ebonite's covers/equipment.  It's too bad.  Jason is very giving of the reasons behind the why's and wherefore's of Visionary.
