Title: Ogre Pearl=Amazing!
Post by: Spartan on May 24, 2008, 01:12:55 PM
so, tonight i traded my smokin' inferno for a hardly used ogre pearl.
threw new grips in, taped the thumb, and i was set.
the ball is drilled pin over ring, with the CG swung out about 2 inches past the thumb. there is a weight hole, about 2 inches over and 1 inch down from the CG.
i bowled 4 games.

234, 236, 244, 256 for a 970 set.

this ball is just LIGHTS OUT. the ball went long, then made a big turn left. i have never had a pearl read the lane so truly yet be so controllable. it carried from a variety of different angles and the hit was unstoppable. i had the front 6 three times before wrapping the ten each time.

the verdict? i am thoroughly sold on this ball and Visionary. ogre solid, here i come!

EXACTLY!!!  If you don't like the 1500 polish OOB....try 4000 ab it will make it smoother on the backend and handle a bit of carry down.

IMO the BEST ball in the Visionary line up for so many different types of players.

4000 grit with or without polish?

Without polish....I use a semi-worn 4000 ab pad.  Works great at smoothing out back end reaction and OP seems to work on a  bit of carry down this way.  I like the reaction better than OOB.
