tried my first visionary balls
« on: July 21, 2008, 02:32:16 PM »
I have a question

what do I do with all this hook?

its a shame I had the thumb drilled too tight so i had to put my thumb in just a tiny bit but even with a tiny bit of revs I can see how wonderful visionary really is. Ive tried MANY companies but this is the first one to make me say "these might be a bit TOO strong.

tried the gladiator but the lanes were obviously not going to be medium heavy.

but I pulled out the ogre s/s a ball that I thought i didnt want at all and it wowed the heck out of me and my friends. If theres friction its like hook in a box. my friend has watched me try 4 other companies and he just said "thats cool" and moved on. but not this time. he picked up my ogre s/s and asked me where he could get one.

pulled off a 224 with the ogre pearl and i could barely get my thumb in it at all.

o wait... I shouldnt be typing this, people might buy them too and use them against me. now thats a nightmare!

once i get the thumbs fitting properly ill give some reviews on them.

Welcome to the club of being wowed by visionary.  I got mine two weeks ago and yes I was WOWED as well. it was awsome, first week of league that I had been having problems in, I shoot 696 out of the box with the blurple, with a 260 game.

You just have to find what matches up with your style! All companies have a signature reaction and read different parts of the lanes differently. You just have to find your niche in the ball market! There in one of the old Hammer plants and John Wonders was like vice president or president of Hammer midwest when it was Faball. John's son have done a great job at Visionary and Betsy has or is always a joy to talk to! I have used their equipment in the past and have had success and have gotten get customer service from them and when I have bought equipment to sell at my pro shop they have been very helpful. I always liked drilling equipment for guys that buy the Test Staff package so I can get the Visionary bucks coupon and build up credit towards future purchases! Good luck with your new equipment! Just my $.02, Bruce

well I feel I have matched up well with several companies but always felt let down by a ball or two because it just wasnt versatile or wasnt reliable. one day it would be amazing and carry everything and the next day it was a complete dud.

I understand thats the nature of reactive balls but thats what is the difference between good equipment and GREAT equipment. Ive had success with brunswick and even hammer (still like my no mercy) but never felt at home. Ive been searching a long time to get that reaction and feel that I had with my old brunswick and I can remember EVERYONE at clark lanes throwing the old faball beasts. Just this year my purple pearl fuze died... now thats what I want again... a ball that lasts AND performs (shot 300 and a few 290's with that ball)

the last company i tried was lane masters and that was fun but Im not crazy about their lineup right now. they have some balls I REALLY want but then theres also a lot I have no interest in at all (i.e. big-r bang, hornet)

I cant wait till thursday.

glad to be part of the visionary test staff 08/09

I just wanted to add that its not that i fit well with visionary. it was the excellent reaction everyone got from the products. my friend loved the reaction and 1 of my friends who doesnt really know how to throw much of a hook and just messes around with my stuff loved it as well. (and hes thrown everything i own)
