what would be your suggestion be to return a blue/green Centaur to OOB?

I'm not Jeff but what kind of lane condition are you playing on?

OOB was 1000 grit matte I believe to much surface for those trying to play a down and in shot on a THS.  Depending on layout, technique and your comfort zone.

Scott is right.

Stock surface is 1000 grit matte or dull. I'd sand it to 600 grit, then 800 grit, then 1000 grit, using water and a spinner. I'd probably use either green nylon pad or wet/dry sandpaper, then a light grey nylon pad or 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper, then 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper or a 1000 grit Abralon pad. I'd adjust the cover as needed after using it at the 1000 grit stop.

I keep mine at 2000 grit, using 2000 grit Abralon pad or wet/dry sandpaper. (been thinking of trying 600 grit plus a light polish ...; haven't done so yet.)

Finished up sanding to 1500 then decent coat of Black Magic.Good length , makes a sharper turn now , definately improved the carry.

Sounds like your place has VERY light oil also. 1500 grit + polish is a lot more (finer, more length) than even I thought of trying. I wound up setting it to 600 grit plus a good dose of Storm's Xtra shine, which has grit in it (Black Magic doesn't). So we might actually be close, thinking more about it. I haven't tried yet as my DRY league is not bowling this week.

I had my B/G at 2000 abralon on some oil last night.  Could slide starting out 18-19 with end over end roll under ball and finished sliding 21-22 with hand off the side for more axis rotation.  Slower ball speed and B/G faced pocket and wow nice carry.  

I keep my B/G at 2000 normally and a RG Saturn at 4000 abralon on drier heads.

I just love these easy to read smooth balls.  

FWIW.....tonight I moved inside to a deep angle at arrows 19 w/ a open handed Weber style with The One to finish in 3rd game.  I go to stronger balls inside than most.

I love the B/G in the track area.

Scott...my thoughts exactly , mine just lacked a bit of hitting power in OOB , now that it turns a bit harder it just blows the rack.
Going up 10 board..staying up the back of the ball..im in the pocket all night...
Blue / Green Centaur has to be one of the most under rated balls on the market.
