Urethane Ogre Video

Finally! I have it done. I threw it on two different days to get the video, so you will see 2 different lanes. I also compare it to the SS Ogre, just to see the difference from the Urethane to a Reactive coverstock. The lanes are wood and the shot was fresh prior to me bowling on them. I had throw about 3 games when I started throwing the Urethane.

I took my Ogre U with me to my Monday night family league and left my SS at home.
I moved from 8 to 10 to 12 playing a out side down and in on the fresh THS and shot 185, 222, 257.  This ball is so smooth and consistent.  Slaps the pin around much more than I anticipated too.  Visionary got it right with this symmetrical core and urethane cover.  This ball forces you to bowl.  Roll the ball, make shots and not just spray the lane like you can with a reactive cover.

How will this ball compare to the B/G. Can a person play the same area with both balls. I have a B/G and was thinking they would overlap. What are some thoughts. Thanks

This is what Charlest put up in my thread, when I asked the same question:

The BGC's surface can be easily manipulated anywhere from its stock 1000 grit US surface, down to 600 grit US to almost any level of polish, allowing it to handle anything from light to true medium oil, depending on drilling and your hand.

Visionary's hard shelled uretahnes, Glowing Amulet, Slate Blue Gargoyle and now the OU, are pretty stubborn shells to be changing from grit to grit. I just did a friend's SBG and it was hard work, plus you have to be very careful.

The solid shell on the BGC is so much easier to change.

I would encourage focusing on your target with any ball, usually helps your score!

well some of the more powerful balls tend to hide release mistakes better and will recover better if you lose it off your hand a bit, stuff like that. i guess this ball won't do that, and doesnt cover up mistakes very well. and yes you should focus on every shot, but if you can spray and not focus and hit pocket and score, some people tend to get lazy and dont focus as much.
