I hadnt heard those.  I've had mine for about a year now and so far no problems and it has hit something around the pindeck area once or twice and gone flying up.  That is never a good feeling to see it go airborne at the pindeck

What is the hardness of the Slate Blue.......if I recall the hardness of the Glowing Amulet was somewhere around 86 on the durometer.  Could that also attribute to cracking other than the glowing additive?

Im betting the glow additive may have given it such hardness, but what do i know?

If it was so hard, why did it track up like it did???

I had one for 5-10 games and it had a noticeable track in it by that time. I was using on regular (not fried) lane conditions as well...

I had a nail back in the old urethane days. it tracked. I don't think hardness is all that's involved in tracking, maybe it's more brittle and the surface wears off just  differently.

What is the difference between the Slate Gargoyle and the Glowing Amulet, besides the "glow"?

Both are urethane covers wrapped in a Gargoyle Core.  

Just wondering if anyone has heard the difference?

I'm not positive but if anyone more informed wants to follow up on me I think the hardness is the only difference.

The hardness of the Glow is like 86 on the durometer, to the eyes and hands it looks and feels like plastic.  Most likely it causes alot less friction then the urethane even though it's a polished pearl cover.

Pin_Krusher IS a serious threat to modern day bowling wood as we know it today.

Visionary said they tried to match the Glowing Amulet with the new urethane ball so they will have the same core and a slight difference in the shell material (probably because of lack of whatever made it glow).  So everything should be close to the Glowing Amulet, as far as specs go.

Differences between the Amulet Glow and the Slate Blue Gargoyle:

Aren't Visionary's own words the defining difference?
The website says the Slate is a pearl urethane. The Amulet Glow was a solid urethane.
"The Slate Blue Gargoyle uses the highly successful Gargoyle core design, and wraps it with a pearlized urethane coverstock."
That is a major difference. No matter how hard or polished it was, my Amulet got much less length length than I expected. I would surely expect the Slate Blue to get significantly more length.
