Slate Blue Cover Strength???

I have a slate blue pearl urethane sit'n on the rack that I'm considering useing.how would this cover compare to the O/SS or O/U? I'll have to plug the thumb and add grips and was wondering if it's worth it? not haveing much luck with my rx1 silver except for converting ten pins. my rx1 is too early in the dry but dosen't offer enough recovery to swing for me. Oh well...

Blue Slate stronger than the OU.  I''''d say between OU and SS.  

SS Ogre depending on layout and your technique lots stronger.

SS Ogre vs. OU with same layout.  OU great super dry lane ball with some hit on backend but carry down suspect as all lower end hooking balls would be.  I use the below OU for single pin spares and could use it on an occasional super dry shot.  SS Ogre below was very controllable for me arced more than skid snap because of the long pin to PAP 5.25" and CG stacked under.

How much difference between your OU and the Recon RX-1 and how are they laid out?  RX-1 has Motivator-X cover and that was used on TX-1 and SX-1 I was never that impressed suspect to carry down.

I use this QZ-1 Red with stronger layout tighter VAL angle to transition off the backend when the backends get tight.  Move in and carry is very good.  If and when I drill a Pearl Gladiator I think it will be this type of layout but both balls would be very close to the same in motion and strength.  Unlike the Motivator cover the QZ-1''''s Motivator-Z does handle some carry down.  I am bowling mainly on AnvilHang with the large puddle in the middle that carries down.  The lengthwise taper is poor at this center to much volume at the back end of the pattern. Lots of frictious nature out.  Anyone that tries to play down and in or in the dry with something like a RX-1 or an OU would fight the carry down that is pushed out from inside players the break point would get iffy as the set progresses to middle and last game.

Another question 6pack.  Why have you never drilled a B/G Centaur for drier?  Or did you?  To me this is a better choice than any of the balls you have tried.  There are still some out there eBay and otherwise.  charlest sold a couple I sold a 15 lb'er recently, etc.

Thanks for the insight Scott..
I just never got around to the BG,have the slate but never set it up to try and after I bought my QZ2 I tried the rx1 silver.the silver rolls real good and carry was strong when I can play the correct line with this thing.I think I'll try a p1 hole in the silver.
