Green/Blue Video... I'm proud!!
« on: May 04, 2008, 10:20:17 AM »
Her name is Kaitlyn Commane, aged 14.

I have helped Kait over the last couple of years, and while her game is still a work in progress, she has steadily improved to the point where she has started to average 200 in a quite a few tournaments.

She won the State Junior Masters earlier this year, at the toughest centre in the state averaging 205 (only person, male or female over the card) and has been in the State team for the last 3.

Not only that, she drills her own gear, and helps me out in the shop. How many 14 year olds, particularly girls, are even interested in that?

Enjoy

I thought you had to be 18 to drill, for insurance reasons?

No pro shop even follows those rules. I started working in my shop at 14, but i didnt drill till 16. Im almost 19 now. Anyway, most shops just wait until the kid is knowledgeable enough or is matured enough to use such dangerous equipment. When i started drilling, i wasnt allowed to use the plug cutter cuz its the most dangerous thing in the shop, that and the end mill bits. Anyway, IMO, i do believe that 14 is too young to be punching out equipment, whether its for herself or not.

I was just wondering, I know all the pro shops around here follow that rule.

She is very safety conscious. I have drilled that into her from day one.

Just waiting for the day for her to tell me to retire, so she can take over the shop
