My Crossover Review
« on: October 18, 2010, 03:41:55 AM »
I drilled my Crossbreed pin at 5 inches, cg/mb at 30 degrees, and a small weight hole in the P3 position.  I went ahead and put a light coat of Factory Finish over it.  The ball can be described in one word; FUN!!!  The Crossbreed clears the heads nicely, starts revving up at the 35 foot mark and very strong yet predictable backend finish.  Compared to the Ogre Solid at 1000 with no polish and a 5 inch by 30 degree, no weight hole, is about 3-5 boards stronger.  If I stood on 25 playing 13-14 at the arrows and a 6-7 breakpoint, the Crossbreed I was standing at 28-30, playing 17 at the arrows and also around 6-7 breakpoint.  With the pearl in the cover, the Crossbreed's backend is a little more defined, but yet still not a true flippy reaction. Also, what I liked, is that when I moved into the puddle, the strength of the cover was more noticeable on the Crossbreed.  On shots pulled a couple boards left, there was still some backend reaction whereas on the Ogre, the backend was squirty or just not enough to make the corner.

For my league shot, I could see myself getting another Crossbreed and leaving the surface at box finish with a similar layout.  So far, I am very impressed with this ball and look forward to throwing it tomorrow night during league.
