lol......I may have to purchase one and lay it out stronger than this sixpack.

Honestly on THS shorter to medium length I think the Ogre Urethane would be the go to ball.

to be honest untill I see one roll I don't know what lay out I'd use.I want something rolly but still clear the heads, nothing jumpy or something I have to swing, just straight roll and a very smooth backend.

Scott,
You and I have talked a little about this already, but curious to what others might think about urethane.  My take on urethane is it has it's play on certain conditions.  But, I think those that would benefit most would be slower speeds and those that can be very accurate.  Power players like myself would find less use of urethane.  Power players...for the most part have more room and can afford to be less accurate so we would get more from reactive balls.  This is just my take on urethane in general on most THS.

Ummmmmm Darin with the THS conditions around Madison with little or no oil to the outside which I think is the norm around the country...I think many would be served very well using a ball like the Ogre Urethane.  Down and in and NOT away from the pocket.  Be able to slide in the 20 board range either closer to the track or maybe outside of it closer to the gutter ONLY on shorter and medium lane conditions which face it that's what most of us face on a THS league condition.

I'll try adjusting my rev rate and ball speed to get higher in the pocket for better carry from the outside...flat 10's will happen when I come in 1/2 pocket.  We'll see again the Ogre line is so reasonably priced.........they are hard not to try at that price.

I tried my Glowing Amulet same surface same type of core but not exactly the same but with a weaker drilling that I'd put on the Ogre Urethane on the fresh at BAV/local house sliding 17 and rolling 4-5 down and in not away from the pocket...very good results.  I can see the Ogre Urethane being able to do the same.  http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q29/scotts33/VisGlowingAmulet.jpg

Carry down is the factor I worry about the most then it's deeper with Ogre Pearl.

Scott,
I'm just saying in my opinion, most power players can not play that line.  They are too used to being able to swing the ball...more of a mental thing I guess.

Badger856, if you are shooting a 4, 7 or 4-7, how do you shoot it?  Do you play it straight.....swing the daylights out of it (or play strike shot but with less speed) or move right a little and play same release as normal and watch it turn??

Asking because I could easily see a power player playing the same physical game with this ball....but without the swing.

And it is like you said...a mental thing....agreed.

I'm a power player/cranker and I can see plenty of reason to consider this ball.the main reason is to keep my line more reasonable and keep me away from 5th-6th arrow.I find high polished reactive just creates to much angle when trying to play on broken down shots.and the higher I amp up my speed the more revs and stronger reaction I get.when I slow my speed down the revs will drop to an almost tweener state.for heavy oil I have no problems playing but I rarely see any good oil anymore,on broken down/dry shots or flat patterns with jumpy backends I have a hard time finding a nice consistant shot.urethane has been the only type of cover I can do well with.

Brown will be delivering my Ogre U on Friday.  Going to drill it just like my Ogre SS.  Pin under ring finger with CG kicked out 1 inch from the mid line.

nice video. The ball looks really aweseome with thosse blue inserts and the blue thumb slug. Also rolling down the lane, the ball looks cool
Thx for the vid. Is it the first Ogre Urethane video in the whole www?

Ernie, nice job on getting a vid out there!!

Ball looks encouraging to say the least!!  Nice roll....consistent arc and maybe a little more ability in the ball than what Jason wants to admit.....but it looks real good.

Looks great rolling down the lanes too!!

Brown delivered my Ogre U today.  A fun looking ugly ball.  Perfect for an Ogre!
Look like pearl and feels like plastic.  Changed my mind on the drilling.  I was going with Pin under ring finger with CG kicked out 1 inch, but I went with the Pin over ring finger with the CG stacked below. I'll give my initial review after I pick it up tomorrow and roll it on some of that mid day tile floor condition at my local house, before they oil the lanes.
