Title: violet gargoyl
Post by: ecc0_9879 on October 04, 2006, 04:29:06 PM
well tonight I grabbed mine because the gryphon was getting a crazy amount of hook so grabbed the violet started out 3 boards of my g3 and hitting a little shorter mark
threw the first 8 clean then on the 9th ball i relaxed my hand to make sure ball would come off my hand clean and it fell off on bottom of swing and didnt get enought hand in it to get the ball to hit 2-8-10 lol
overall this ball is one great wepon to have in the bag clean in the fronts and really arcs hard in the backend very impressive ball hits as hard as my g3 and has same great visionary carry for a 149 dollar ball this thing is impossible to beat imo

I didn't like mine. Too much hook to play a straighter line and left nothing but ten pins when I moved inside. I kept it only briefly and then gave it away. It never made it to the "A" bag.

On the other hand I still carry a Granite for oil and I loved my Slate for Dry.

I probably should have tried surface or drilling changes but I was rolling the ball well at the time and had no patience for a ball I couldn't score with.

the first night i got mine it was very jumpy but once i figured out a line this thing is money I stacked it up and 3 3/8 syacked leverage and have the pin about a quarter inch higher to promote a little more lenght I have a weight hole an inch below my pap and it is a bigg dia hole and drilled shallow so it promotes more of a rev hole than a balance hole this ball is a great investment for 150 bucks or less. the guy i was throwing against last night was throwing an agent and overall I was getting better carry and better hits than him with his agent also on the lanes was a paradigm and a black widow they all seemed impressed with this ball

I'm not saying the violet is bad. It just rolled  too early for me. More oil would have likely cured the problem. I think the Gargoyle line is among the best bang for your buck in bowling.
