Title: Violet Gargoyle for Light Oil??????

I have the G-3 as my benchmark ball, Frankie May for Heavy, Greenie for med-oil.
I was wondering has anybody tried to polished the Violet to 2000 polished and tried to use it for light oil?

I already answered some of lion95's questions in a PM.  But for me on a light-medium shot the Violet inside will work.  Please refer to the BTM numbers on medium and light-medium BTM conditions.  Also for me, I would not suggest the Green Blue Centaur inside....why it is an archy non-flaring ball that needs entry angle for better carry.  Green/Blue is a great down the boards track area ball.  Great for wet/dry....play the dry and the oil line.

Inside the Violet will work until you need to go to something stronger for carry down and inside carry angles.  Violet is not a skid/flip ball like the G-3 or Greenie more even roll as it will pick up some mid lane.

I am different than a lot of players in that I go to stronger equipment as I move deeper.  Most seem to go to weaker and stay on the same line.  I go stronger and try to pick up some head oil for energy retention and better carry.

Scotts33 is right the B/G Centaur is archy, I am like scotts33, when the lanes start to dry up i move left and chase the oil. I just didn't know if the violet polished up to 2000 polished would still be to strong for light oil.

lion95,

It would be fair to say it is based upon the layout and what part of the lane you are trying to play when there is light oil.

Understand that the Violet's main function is a smooth, but strong midlane roll, so the layout will play a good part along with the polish as to how it will handle light oil.

If you can answer my questions about the part of the lane you want to play, I can suggest a nice layout or two that you may be able to use with the Violet polished at 2000.

I've got mine polished around 1500 and it's still pretty controllable on lighter oil patterns, drilled 4 1/2 stacked.
