I did it!  I contacted Betsy this morning and signed up for the Platinum Test Membership.  I will start with the AMB Particle, Frankie May Gryphon, O/B Ogre Solid, and Green/Blue Centaur for dry lanes and spares.  I will add the P/B and SS Ogres later.

The responses I got from Jason and Jim have been really helpful.  They helped me select an arsenal and drilling pattern.  Betsy is really wonderful to talk to.  I am looking forward to first drilling up the O/B Ogre.

I didn't need Chuck Norris last night when I finally shot my first 800 series.

Congrats man, welcome aboard. From what I've heard, you'll need Exxon Valdez to supply you with enough oil for that AMB Particle.

Thanks, Rock77 and MI 2 AZ.  I actually bowled in a place that decided to use up all their oil before the league ended.  It seemed like I was bowling on a 50 ft. flat pattern.  A Total Inferno wouldn't move and a Storm Vertigo that usually skids and then snaps earlier on the same lanes all of a sudden had a smooth arc to it.  I remarked that if I wanted to bowl on a Sport pattern, I would sign-up in a Sport bowling league.  That is my reason I went with the AMB Particle.  I feel I can cover any lane condition with the bowling balls I suggested.  Now I just have to wait for them.

Thanks, everybody.  The bowling balls are shipping out today and I will take Jason's advice and drill up the O/B Ogre Solid next Thursday and use it during the Instructional league I bowl in on Thursdays.

I have had great experiences talking with Jason, Jim, and Betsy.  If the bowling balls are half as good as their wonderful customer service, I am in for a treat.  I can't wait until Thursday!

Everything arrived today, just like Betsy said.  Thanks again to Betsy, Jim, and Jason.  All were very helpful in helping me decide what bowling balls to get, what top weight and pin distance to go with, what drilling layout I should use, and packaging and getting my order to me without damage and in a timely manner.

Test Staff means you get around $650 worth of equipment, only paid 500 for it, and  get a discount on all future purchases.  The future discount is a bonus.  The price of the membership is less than the price of the gear you receive.  Do the math.

If Hammer, Ebonite, Brunswick, or Storm offered the same program, I'd be willing to bet ahelluvalot more people would have types of signatures we do.

yeah..and you bought a Hammer...lol..visionary is the original owners of hammer.

Just to clear things up.  I know full well that Visionary is basically Faball with a new name.  I also know that Hammer is Ebonite with a different name stamped on the side.  So given that logic, aren't we really the Hammerheads.... and you are a part of the EboNation?

(I made just made up EboNation, and reserve all rights, privileges, and any future royalties from it's use )

There are different types of memberships.  I chose the Platinum Membership.  I got 4 bowling balls, a KR 3-ball roller, two shirts and a towel.  Plus, you do get discounts on bowling balls and other merchandise.  I also emailed Jason and Jim Wonders many times to discuss what balls to buy and what layouts to put on them.  I then called Betsy to purchase the Platinum Membership.  Everyone I talked to at Visionary has been really helpful and pleasant to talk to.  That is why I am now using Visionary equipment.  You can't put a price tag on their excellent customer service.  The only catch is that you have to post a review of each bowling ball you purchase.

Hammerhead4Life:  What I got with the Ogre Solid is a nice, continuous arc that explodes the pins and keeps them low.  I still have the other balls to drill up, but I can't wait to try them out Thursday.

I have heard many complaints about ball death with Hammer and Ebonite bowling balls.  Some Hammer bowling balls are a sponge that needs constant cleaning and polish themselves.  I also have a Black Widow and hate it.  To each his own.

Powermachine-: In the summer, I bowl on Thursday nights at Thruway Lanes and during the fall, I bowl at Lancaster Lanes on Tuesdays and Thruway Lanes on Fridays.  I am alos trying to get a team at Wimbledon Lanes on Thursdays.

If you want to bowl, let me know.  I am closest to Lancaster Lanes, but can get to Thruway Lanes with no problem.

Hammerhead4Life:  I considered the AMB Centaur Particle last year when the lanes got really slick and nothing else would move in the oil.  The reason I didn't get the ball is that I could not justify spending that much on a condition-specific ball that wouldn't see much action.  But, I decided to go down to 14 lbs. and considered many ball companies before giving Visionary a try.  I was a little worried I would not be able to use the ball in the PBA Pro-Am.  I punched up the Ogre Solid Thursday and am very happy with the ball.  Jason and Jim were very helpful and suggested I drill up the Ogre Solid to see if I like the 4x4 drilling they recommended.  I also found a great driller.

Get the Ogre Solid.  You won't be disappointed.  If you have any problems with it, contact Jason and Jim Wonders.  They are more than willing to help out.
