FIGJAM about to commence.....
Well....after blowing out my elbow 10 years ago...I made the decision to instead of quitting bowling, to switch to my other hand. After numerous games under 100 and lots of practice, I finally started to improve a few years in. Nothing more frustrating to go from averaging 225, having bowled 9 300 games and 3 800 sets to go to barely breaking 400 for a set.
Well tonight I finally put it all together in league.....248-300-248=796....needed the first hit in the 10th the last game for 8 and left a 6 pin....oh well.
I wonder how many folks have bowled a sanctioned 300 right handed and left handed? Can't be too many....
FIGJAM ALERT OVER
ALMOST OVER...on edit...I forgot to include that I posted this in the Visionary section because I used an AMB PARTICLE CENTAUR. Yeah, the high load particle ball that is 10 years old. Big thanks going out to MonsterStitch (from here on ballreviews) as I bought it NIB from him about a month ago...punched it out and that was about the 20th game on the ball.

Nice shooting! Glad you finally figured it out and had a great set!!!!

Most of us can appreciate, and sincerely compliment you on some great bowling! There is a nucleus of some good people here on ballreviews who appreciate such accomplishments. Congrats from us, and hopefully there are many more great sets in your future.

Congratulations on your 300 game and 796 series. Great bowling with your off-hand.
-
That's an awesome comeback, congrats!!

Normally, I'd make fun of a FIGJAM, but in this case, it is justified. Great shooting, sir!
-
Congratulations!

It would take me 3 games to bowl 300,with my opposite hand .That would be after a few yrs too
Well done sir !!
-
Thanks everyone.
And yes, sometimes it did take me 3 games to bowl 300 right when I started as well...amazing how far the progress has evolved.
I will say this..after I tossed my first 300 at 16 yrs old...I sort of took the next 8 for granted because I just thought I would be able to bowl more...then 10 years later I blew my elbow out at age 26 and didn't know if I would ever be able to bowl again. Now, at age 37, this one probably means more to me than the other ones combined knowing the time, dedication, and the struggles I suffered through along the way.
As a side note, I emailed the USBC last night and asked if there were any records on the number of individuals with sanctioned 300s left handed and right handed. I received an answer early today stating the USBC does not keep track, but there are multiple individuals that have achieved the feat.

Great shooting! That is quite an accomplishment!!!

Congrats!

I know one person that did; my former PSO was similar to you. 230+ as righty, multiple 300s, and blown out elbow switched to lefty for a few years. he can now average around 220 with either hand and has at least one lefty 300.

Great job WOWZERS! Way to overcome and work hard to improve, refreshing!

Funny you say that because I sure did put in a ton of time, but just last Friday I bowled so poorly in a tournament I decided to go Sunday morning, took 9 balls with me to try everything, and just sat there and worked on my timing and ball reaction. I ended up bowling 11 games and then later in the day on Sunday I went to a different bowling alley and bowled more.
Next time out....300....so yeah, practice is absolutely the key and not just drilling up the latest and greatest and thinking it solves everything.
Pic of ball attached as well.
