World Youth Championships 2006 in Germany

Hi,

I wanted to know if you already know who will bowl in Berlin the capital of Germany.

I am from Germany and spent one year in Newtown, PA as an exchange student. I am really excited about the world championships. We will see the best youth bowlers from the world, and I think it is the biggest world championship ever with around 90 countries participating.

Would be happy to see some replies to this topic, thanks.

wouldn't belmonte and osku be alittle old for the youth world championships?

i think it is PJ, Ivan,OG, and David Lange going for the guys

don´t forget that everbody until 26 years old is allowed to play, her is the link to the official homepage www.wyc2006.com
maybe you look in they will update scores pictures and everything

Junior Team USA 2006 and the United States of America will be represented by Samantha Linder, Michelle Quirk, Amanda Burgoyne, Stefanie Nation....For the boys, PJ Haggerty, David Lange, Ivan Miyasato, and myself.  

Our coaching staff will be Jr. Team USA Head Coach Rod Ross, Theresa Ross, Kendra Gaines, and Kim Terrell.  I've been told this is one of the largest World Youth Championships in history.  Team USA expects to have a great showing in every event in Germany.  There is no doubt in my mind that this years team should be able to get the job done.  This is a spirited group with alot of talent, with extrodinary coaches by our side... Wish us the best of luck as we leave July 18th for Berlin, approximately an 8 and a half hour plane trip from NYC!

Team Canada will be very strong also.. they had an incredible showing in Mexico and couldn't be any nicer people.  Anyone from Canada on this forum should be very proud of their country, many talented athletes are representing you.

Your right, we are very proud of team canada. thanks for recognizing Matt. Many props to a man that gives congrats to others. I have been talking with Cassie and Felicia about mexico and they had a great time.

The team that went to mexico for the boys is not the same for Germany as the teams were picked from different tournaments.

Watch out for Dan and Simmy(simoneau). Dan skitt is a Rotogrip staffer as well as Veronica Lalonde Lapointe, and Simmy is a Circle Athletics Staffer. Simmy is also going to Common Wealth games in a week. Good Luck in Austraila simmy.

Ps no one mentioned but canada took the most medals with 9

They also had the most fun, but that could be debated lol. But we do have the worst coach, thanks Allen your getting fatter as we speak with all the Burger King.

Osku and Jason are young enough at 22, I think. The tournament is under 23 years on Jan 1st 2006.

It should be good fun on short and long patterns. The surface should prove some interesting challenges. Anybody ever bowled on 'Funk' before?

The most interesting thing about WYC is the short oil... i always wanted to play the lanes as the pba players did on pattern "E"...

32 feet of oil, pretty oily, out of 5 is almost dry.... and i bet we will see many gutterbals

Cranker, pba pattern E is 3 feet longer than the 32 foot pattern that will be used in the Worlds.  This pattern is extremely different from Cheetah.  Players with higher rev rates will be forced to have there breakpoint on the first or second board.  Outside of 5 is not dry, but because of the extreme shortness of the pattern, you may think it is dry because of the shape of the reaction.  I believe the 32 footer used in the WYC will be somewhat flatter and have a much lower ratio than Cheetah...

Dude, I've heard Funk is a smoother surface than ProAnvil... If that is the case, it is going to take alot more surface management to match up to these patterns...
