So how much is 1st place if you only have 75 entries?  I wish directors would say that. BTW, how many entries are there so far??  I might go just to see where GOLD is next year.

I see where the Desert Open is doing what I like on their entries!!  The prize fund is broken up on how many are there.

I don't want to fly from California, have 75 entries and the top prize is reduced to almost zero.

I bowled in this event last year, and I'll say it was a great time. There only ended up being I think 42 entries, but it was still one of the best tournaments I've bowled in. It was run very professionally, and the tournament directors were very dedicated to making sure everyone was taken care of.

The format is great, 18 games of qualifying on 3 different sport patterns, then matchplay the rest of the way.

BTW, last year, even with only 42 entries, they still paid out around $1,250 for first I believe, and there was a ton of bracket action.

If you can make it, go. It's definitely worth the trip.

$1250 isn't quite the same as $5000.

If the tournament is sponsored by Roto Grip, then that company should make up the difference.

 I'll pass unless it's at least $3500.

Mark, that's why I like bowling JBT's, no guessing!!
