There is many ways to progress a sport...but if you look at the major sports, what sells? what gets everyone's attention, the big rivalries, baseball there is red sox and yanks, dodgers and giants, basketball there has always been boston vs los angeles, shaq vs kobe, you can see where my point for that is going, it also seems to make everyone want it that much more...usually

The difference is, those sports are already established. Rivalries add fuel to a popularity fire, they don't start them. Nobody outside the Junior Bowling world would know of any rivalry so what's the point? And rivalries are good between teams/players, not dividing a country in half.

hmmm.... when was the last time california was considered a country... $:-\$ hmmmm.... just playin... but anyways... as jared put it before it is all in fun and games... and there may not be a good reason for it, but sometimes just going bowling and throwing the ball isn't enough, so getting loud, getting in peoples faces, and started little rivalry's that don't matter... is flat out fun and funny, i know there are some people out there that really cant stand one another and hey thats justified within itself, starting something in california between bowlers is all fun and games literally, but when it comes down to a match in a tourney is where the intensity comes... and really calling it a rivalry is inaccurate... its more just like sarcastic dissing back and forth... and yeah sometimes it can get serious and it gets settled on the lanes one way or another... its just a fun stupid thing in juniors to do... keeps the boredom away.... its not a rivalry and although at times it has been... there is not one now and all it is is fun on the internet espexially since there have not been many interesting posts lately.. so thats pretty much that.... and we can all see whats what between north and south anyways when CSC comes around.... and when Firecracker comes around... because the funny thing is how we always will go up there for tourneys... but you guys never come down here anymore.... weird... haha.. anyways... gotta get going... talk to you all later

First of all i have to say that this stupid north v. south thing is getting old. We are freakin one state and we should act like it. WE have so many good bowlers in this state and we fight over who is better. Winning CSC, Pepsi, State Scratch means very little. Bowling on a wall doesnt mean you are good. It means you had good ball match up for that day. The only people that could but wont talk trash, is Mark or PJ. They are both on Team USA and are very deserving. They bowled on tough shots and GOLD and proved themselves. Well this is just one mans thoughts. Later

i like this post... it makes people post funny stuff and makes me laugh as well as many others... and people who get way serious about it... even funnier... all this is is for entertainment mainly... and california should be split into southern california and norther california, its not just bowling where this is present... i know plenty of people that just go to skool that have their differences with southern and northern... split the state, and if that ever happened it would be funny, but the other funny thing is that people are gonna be like thats a dumb idea to split california blah blah.. when really its just a joke and take it for wut it is, kind of like most of the things on this forum, ITS ALL FOR FUN AND IF YOU CANT DEAL WITH THAT DONT TALK ON HERE.... oh and it smells funny up there in nor cal.... :-D

lol, we aren't whining, just simply responding...the north bowlers will have their board talk saying what they want to say, and so does the south, when we get offline, we just joke about the website, no one really cares...No one is ever like OMG they said that, there is going to be a fight now and stuff like that, because no one cares that much about it, its a message board, or atleast no one from the south really cares that much about it, I can't say for the north

Wow, been hella days since I posted on this site. North vs. South??? What the hell is this, the Civil War all over again. To back up the North, south bowlers always tell us north bowlers to bring our game down there. One time I would like them to say they will come up here. To defend the south, many a great bowler have come from the south. Mark French, Chris Fritch, and many others have proven themselves. Is there really a rivalry, no not at all. For every good bowler we have in the north, there is a good bowler in the north. I, Charles Schmidt, because I am not afraid of reprecussions, would like to extend my olive branch to the south and call a truce. We are one state. If we sit here and argue over who is better, other states are gonna start thinking they are better. But we all know, the greatest bowlers come from Cali. I'm not one of them, I've been struggling for several years now, which retirement may be upon me. I am doing this to make the state stronger as it is almost time for me to say my goodbyes. Good Luck and keep striking

truce... why... its more fun this way and always gives us something to bicker about... keeps things interesting... and i would like to say.... you nor cal bowlers should come down to firecracker and prove were all one state then and bowl the big tourneys we got down here just how we go to big tourneys up there such as csc and what not... just an idea to support these tourneys that centers and people put on for us..... and thats that...
