Youth membership
« on: August 24, 2013, 11:35:14 AM »
Did the period when a youth bowler is sanctioned change to every fall season? I thought it used to be if they sanctioned in the summer their membership was good through the following summer. I took my kid to fall/winter league signups this morning and was charged 17 dollars again after we paid 17 at the end of May to have her sanctioned for summer league. Anyone ever heard of this rule change?

I believe that all USBC cards are good till 31 July, whenever purchased.
A new card is required August 1st and that card is good till 31 July of the following year.

I know in years past they would carry over one full from the time you paid, atleast in my area. When we signed up they made it sound like it was a new rule the USBC had passed. The boys half of signups was saying it carried over and the girls side was saying no, it was something new and to pay the fee again. Just seemed confusing to me.

I know in the past if you bought a card for the summer it carried over to the next year. I don't know if it changed or not.

I am not positive that the youth is the same as the adult, but for adults they (USBC) did change the dates for the cards.  It was told to us when we started our summer Sport league.  As stated earlier, it used to be that if you bought a USBC card for the summer leagues, it would carry over into the winter leagues and that next summer.  Now it does not, which is bad because I had to buy a Sport upgrade for the summer sport league (only 10 weeks) and it will expire at the end of the summer so I will have to buy another for the winter sport league and that would apply to just the normal USBC membership for the regular adult leagues too.
