Both balls were drilled with the Rico layout. Surfaces are OOB. First part of the video is on the 2004 USBC Open pattern...the last part is on a fresh THS.

Now having bowled more than a few games with the Rico-ed Break Pearl, I must say that it is one of the strongest and most continuous pearl reactives I have ever thrown. That much, I think, is evident in the video.
Compared to the solid Break, the Break Pearl gets a good 4-5 feet more length with a more skid-flip ball motion. It still retains the original's "banana" hook shape, but the breakpoint is pushed further downlane, resulting in a more angular move to the pocket and increased entry angle. To be sure, it's a unique shape not offered by many balls on the market today, and has thus far proven to be phenomenally versatile, even on more difficult shots (again, see the video...I really did strike a lot during filming, regularly reeling off four-five in a row).
I don't like starting company vs. company wars, but I will say this -- compared to a Storm Gravity Shift set up with a traditionally "more angular" drilling, the BP was a touch longer and was also more angular (by far). Whereas the GS seemed to hang or labor on occasion, the BP confidently skid to the breakpoint, revved up tremendously hard, and then just took off. There's just enough midlane to give a good read on the reaction...but after that, it's all about backend performance. Best of all, it's incredibly consistent (giving you the same reaction time after time), with very little squirt.
On House patterns, I was forced reasonably deep due to the strength of both Break's backends. But...no matter how deep I got, I could always count on bringing them back provided that I had a clean release and hit my mark. I never found the balls to lack hitting power upon arrival either (meaning they didn't burn up in the dry).
