Drilling Ideas
« on: October 23, 2008, 11:36:34 AM »
So I picked up a Pro Pin Break and i'm trying to decide how to drill it. It's a 5" pin with the CG maybe an inch from the MB and slightly out of line to the left. The ball is at my parents house so I haven't had the opportunity to look at it in person yet.

I'm a left handed high track, md-low rev player. I'm looking for the ball to get some length with a controllable hard arc on the backend. I'm not sure of my exact PAP so I'm not asking for specific drilling instructions just some ideas.

Here's a link to the picture my brother took of it.http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=58829&id=678436442#/photo.php?pid=1442956&id=678436442

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Mike

4.5 x 6 drilling worked well for me.

Hi Mike...welcome to 900G.  I wanted some length with similar backend reaction and I found it with the pin up & 4" x MB 4.5" from PAP.  If you dont know your PAP, take a visit to you local pro shop.  Most will gladly take the time to map out your PAP.  It makes a world of difference!  I have two Break Pearls that are completely different balls and the Pin to PAP distance is 1.5" apart.  Good luck and let us know how the Break works out for you.

Scarps,

yeah i know most pro shops will do that for you. In fact i had them map it out when I had a ball drilled in May, I just can't remember the specs. Unfortunately i'm away at school right now and don't have a pro shop I know or trust in the area.

I'm just wondering if the drillings you guys suggested are what's worked well in the past or something you think would work with the extremely long pin that i've been dealt to work with?
