Which shoes are best and why?

My SST5s are pretty worn out and I really need a new pair for the upcoming season.  Which do you think is the best value and the best shoe?

My SST6's managed to turn up "missing" about three weeks ago.  I could have replaced it with another pair of 6's on bowling.com for $120.  I figured I'd just step it up to the SST8's for an extra ten bucks.  So far I have not been disappointed.  Took me all of 3 shots to get used to the shoes, and I feel as if they are more comfortable.

If money isn't an issue, just go with the SST8's, that's my opinion.

the new dynorooz ultra tours are really nice but so are the SST's 8 for the higher price range shoes

the 3G tour ultras are the best bowling shoe you can buy. the uppers are made from kangaroo leather instead of their competitors cowhide-----kangaroo leather is at least twice as strong and far more supple than cowhide. these shoes feature quality construction as the soles are glued and stitched to the uppers. the kevlar push-off toe is longer lasting than the competitions rubber that's used. with the shoes you get a carry bag, slide shoe cover, shoehorn, shoe trees, and pick for changing the discs in the cleat sole. with up to six(6) different soles and six(6) different heels you have endless slide options. the cleat sole and the adjust-a-heel are features that the competition can't match. i've worn these shoes for over 5 years on all types of approaches and can't tell youi how good these shoes really are.

I had tour ultra's and switched to SST8's because I got a deal on them. I cannot complain, they have a different feel but the wider base on the SST8's are a big plus. Both are comfortable and come with all the soles and heels you need. I have to side with the SST8's just a tad though, I do prefer them, and after one full year of use they are still in great shape and I bowl a lot.

I vote for the 3G Tour Ultras.  For me, they are more comfortable than the Dexters.  Also I can get the combination of heels and soles for the slide I want.

I switched from my SST6 to the 3G Tour Ultra.  I find the Tour Ultras more comfortable and the slide more consistent.  I'll stick with this model from 3g as long as it's made.

put your sliding shoe on a flat surface and look at the heel. I have found that Dexters lie somewhat flat and often lean slightly to the left (i.e. the front of the heel slightly pushes the back of the heel in the air) This causes you to catch yourself on the slide after time.

I have never found this to be the case with Linds.

i could never find the right slide with dexters regardless of what sole/heel combo i tried. dexter and linds custimer service let me down big-time so i went to 3G and have never looked back. 3G.......superior shoes and customer service.

The slide soles were what made me go with the 3g.. I have the adjust-a-heel but don't use it.. I use a slide sock with the red heel..

I was more talking about the no size 14, limited arch support, the push off sole, and the rubber toe cap..
could have more, arch support, push off sole.. etonic has this won but their soles suck,
I would make the toe cap out of a slicker/firmer material so that it doesn't bounce and studder for people that drag their foot.. I have also caught it a couple times on my approach..
