can all three balls be drilled to do different things or is having all three of these balls too similar in what they do?

i have thrown both the widow and nv and they are very differnt for me. NV goes longer and turned harder at the break. Widow i say turns a little sooner. Widow IMO is the best ball on the market right now. I have never thrown the No Mercy but i might be lookin in to one in the future

I too have wondered the same thing about the Widow and the TNV.  I was thinking of getting the widow and drilling it to start sooner and with a little more cover, and then taking the TNV and drilling it to snap at the end with like a 4000 finish.  Maybe would be able to use the Widow on alittle more oil.

BW: is a good ball that has little mid-lane and a very strong back end reaction.  Of course this ball can be drilled to grab a little more in the mid-lane.  It has a very unique reaction that's not found with many bowling balls.  It has a mix of arc and flip to it.  I don't own this ball anymore.

NM: is just stronger than the BW.  It has a stronger mid-lane read and equally if not stronger back end reaction.  The NM also has the unique back end reaction (arcish/flip).  Very controllable consistent reaction.  By far my favorite bowling ball. I have 3 of them.

TNV:  I have never owned this ball but have seen many of them rolled.  From what I have seen this ball is longer than the other 2.  The back end reaction is no where close to the other 2.  Completely different reaction shape.

These 3 would give you different looks on the lanes.

Chitown.....so what you're saying is drill and prep the surface of the NM for midlane and alittle more oil and use the TNV to get through the heads with more backend.  So I guess the NM could be more of an oil ball (more so than the TNV)?

The NM can handle more oil than the TNV.  I'm not so sure the TNV has more back end than the NM.  The NM has a very strong back end reaction that can cover a lot of boards.  It just goes about it in a different way than the TNV.  The NM and BW have a very unique back end reactions.  The reaction is a cross between an arc and flip.  It's really different than most bowling balls.

If all 3 balls are in box condition the NM can handle the most oil.  The TNV will get thru the heads easier because of it's polished cover.

Here's mine:

Black Widow- best ball I've ever thrown, hands down. Very predictable, big backend, awesome carry and power. It's got a great arc all the way down the lane, and a BIG backend snap. You can swing it, or play straighter with no problems.

Total NV- great ball, more overall lane hook, big backend also, not quite as sharp, but doesn't "set", it just keeps hooking. Very versitile ball cover-wise too. The TNV can be very conditional at time though.

No Mercy- not a big fan of the one I had, although it was a good ball, just not quite what the Black Widow, Toxic, Total NV are. I wouldn't mind trying another with a different drilling sometime though. I didn't find this ball being a big "hooker", as compared to those stated above. Very conditional ball.
