Just got my Sauce

Just got my Sauce from Buddie's today.

I'll be getting it drilled up this Friday.  But I have a question on the condition out of the box.  There were some marks on the ball and I'm not sure if that's normal for a new ball to have them.

Nothing looks deep enough for me to worry about them being cracks.  They look like typical use marks that would be there in a few weeks anyway.  I'm just wondering if marks like that are normal or if I should be making a call for a replacement ball?

Should get with  Buddies first, even before posting this.

i don't think he was trying to put them out, he just didn't know if the ball should look that way. No it shouldn't Arstine, contact them and let them know you got a defect.

To clear it up, I was NOT trying to put anyone down on the ball.  Buddie's was tops on their service.  Even called me about 5 minutes after my order to clarify some info on it.  Not anyone's fault at all that the ball was goobered up, just a manufacturing thing that's bound to happen.  I'll be calling them first thing tomorrow.

Are you sure the dog wasn't carrying the ball around in it's jaws?

Quick update on this to put any questions to rest.  I fired an email last night to Buddies and planned to call them this morning.  Turns out I didn't need to call at all, when I got up I had a reply to my email from Chad at Buddies that a new ball was being sent out.  No trouble, no questions, no hassle, just top notch customer service.

The only bad thing in this experience is that I won't be using my new Sauce in leagues this week.  Good thing is that I have a nice paper weight until I figure out what to do with the beat up ball.  hehe

If you get to keep it, just drill it out for different conditions.  I am sure that it rolls fine.

If I get to keep it I'm thinking to donate it to a youth league here.  It's only a 14 pounder so maybe one of the kids can put it to good use.  I'm about to fire off an email to Buddies now to see if that's a go or if they'll be wanting it back.

I'm sure you'll have to send it back. Buddies will return it to EboHammeColumbathaneTrackonite for a credit or a new ball. They will probably pay for shipping back to them. I would assume there will be a prepaid shipping label sent along with the new ball. But I have not had to return anything to Buddies so they might be different, but I would act at this point as if you would be returning it.

Yup, that's how it's being handled.  Just got a reply saying that they will be sending a return label for it.

Got my replacement the other day.  Had it drilled up similar to my Cherry Vibe..

After about 15 frames of fine tuning with sand paper on the thumb hole I finally got it where it feels right.  Turned on the scoring after that to throw a few games with the girlfriend and went 15 in a row before leaving a 4 pin.  Nice to knock out a perfect game with it but I don't know if it was the ball matching up to me so well or if the lanes were just that easy.  We'll see how it treats me on league night.

Overall, I love the ball.  Easy to take some hand out and play straight up 10 - 5, or crank on it and play all the way across the lane.  This weekend I'll get some video and put it up in this thread.

Also the service from Buddies was great.  The replacement ball was sent right away with fast shipping so I didn't have to wait longer than needed.

This is a prime example of why you should shop at Buddies.  I order all my my stuff from them.  I've only had 2 issues with the stuff I've received over the years.  Both issues were taken care of right away.  Just sent them a quick picture and they took care of it right away.  Usually, they are the lowest price on the internet.  Now and then, someone will have it cheaper by a couple of dollars.  Their customer service is worth way more than a couple of bucks to me.
