The mailer has all sorts of great info. Cover finishes, rg/diff, the new ratings table. Ra values and explanation of 10-13 # ball core designs.

First time I've seen any company put out such great info to the shops.

And meanwhile, over on the Hammer board, they're busy trying to shovel it back under the rug and giving stern talking-tos to those responsible for sending out the info.  Sad.

Well, the Bowler Store website has item descriptions for the Hammer equipment and apparently the specs. Here is the information from there, I''m guessing the differential numbers are for 15# for the Hammer Plague even though it doesn''t say that there.

***

Hammer Jigsaw Trap

Color: Blue/Purple/Yellow
Coverstock: Quick Corner Pearl
Core: High Mass Bias Jigsaw Core
Factory Finish: 800 / 800 / 1000 / 1000 / Polish
Performance: Good Length with High-Friction Backend
RG: 15#-2.49     RG Differential: 15#-.058
Recommended Lane Condition: Medium to Heavy Oil

***

Hammer Plague

Coverstock: Level 2 Reactive
Factory Finish: 500 / 1000 / 2000 Abralon
Color: Purple/Red/Gold
Core:
Flare Potential: High
Performance:
Best Lane Condition: Medium to Heavy Oil
RG: 2.50
Differential: .055

***

Hardcore Hammer Grind

Coverstock: Violent Reactive
Color: Black/Green
RG 15lbs: 2.56
Differential 15lbs: .045
Factory Finish: 800 / 800 / 1000 / 1000 / Polish

***

The Midnight Vibe information is available at the Hammer website so no need to post that. Just putting this up here for anyone who didn''t see it. It looks like the Jigsaw is staying the highest performance line, while the Plague is taking the high performance line from where the Widows used to be. The Hardcore series is possibly going to be what replaces the Raw Hammer series. Interesting stuff. All of this stuff could probably change in the future, but I love Hammer products so I thought I''d let other people who do see this information. =)

I loved my Cherry Vibe and have been thinking about getting an Onyx for awhile and drilling it rico.

Vibe can't effectively be drilled with a RICO Layout. When you drill your x-hole you wouldn't hit the core. Since it taper inward, so you would not add any asymmetry... therefore a waste of a good ball.

There are no release dates for any of the balls I listed yet.

Considering that the Midnight Vibe is already on the Hammer Site, I'm guessing it will come out later this month or early June.

Also, anyone who knows about Hammer's F.C.C. rating system here is some more information (that I'm sure can change during the testing process) on the Jigsaw Trap, Plague, and Grind:

***

Hammer Jigsaw Trap

Finish = 8
Cover = 4
Core = 7
F.C.C. = 19

***

Hammer Plague

Finish = 6
Cover = 8
Core = 7
F.C.C. = 21

***

Hardcore Hammer Grind

Finish = 4
Cover = 8
Core = 4
F.C.C. = 16

***

Some information can be drawn from this. Since the Jigsaw Core on the Corner is listed as a 9, this would suggest that the core in the Trap is modified. The other information I have is that the Plague has a new core and new cover, so can't draw too much information there. However, the coverstock is apparently on par with the Violent Reactive coverstock (by comparing the F.C.C. ratings), which is found on the original Black Widow, the Jacked, and the new Grind.

Anything else that can be found would be great. All I'm hearing is absolutely amazing things about the Plague though, could be Ball of the Year.

Any other information people have would be helpful. =)

Isn't one of the main point's of the RICO Layout adding Asymmetry to the core with the weight hole? So you have to drill into the core. Next someone will try a RICO Rayzr.

Here is a post from someone who has drilled one:

Midnight Vibe should be out later this month to the very beginning of June. All I know is that we have it, and it looks GOOD.

Good question. Considering I work for the biggest proshop in the country, we get all of the new ebonite inc. bowling balls. I am on track staff. But one of my best friends is on Hammer staff, so he brought it in for me to drill. All I said was that the ball looked good. I'll let you know how it rolls compared to the other vibes as soon as he throws it.

It's always been my understanding you drill the hole there to help keep it from flaring towards the fingers not to "create asymmetry"
