900 Global Network, this ball carries even the off hits!
« on: February 10, 2014, 11:56:42 PM »
900 Global has out done themselves!!! I give this ball 5 out of 5 stars.  This ball is great for every type of lane condition. This balls gets down the lane, whether you're a cranker or down-and-in bowler, and rolls up hard to the pocket.  This ball even carries the off hits! It's a must have ball, complete with an extra 5-10 pins added to your average!

I guess I should of asked what reaction you wanted to get out of the ball.  I would also classify retain and smooth as being close and somewhat similar.  3" pins mostly look like the ball is trying to roll up a hill at the break point.

Are you confusing asymmetricals with symmetricals?

For a low tilt bowler like myself using a 1:1 ratio accompanied by a 3" pin to pap on a high int diff asym and HUGE p3 hole this ball should have a very strong transition!!

Personally, if you wanted a quick transition, I would have went with something like a 50*5*30. 3 inch pin to pap on a strong assym is NOT where I would have gone...

5" pin to pap with 8* tilt?

Now that's funny!!

Hello forward roll.

Not confusing anything...Just stating that In my experience regardless of asy or sym 3" pins from axis is going to have a smooth type motion.

would love to see a video and a picture of what this ball motion looks like. Maybe I could learn something new.

I have laid out 4 different NETWORK balls so far and ive not had a problem with anyone of them making it back to the pocket on different angles from straight up to swinging the crap out of it. granit i did change the surface on all of them but if your seeing your storm ball hook more, your not throwing the NETWORK the same way.. the Network should out hook it easily with out a doubt..  Ive thought about throwing the 1 I had my 875 set with again but its kinda hard to pull it out of its glass case its in  :)   it may never hit another pin as long as i own it..  its retired now after only 3 games...
If you want it, go after it and make it happen.  If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourself....or maybe your just not throwing the right equipment  :)

Spider, are you a right handed bowler?

You said the CG / Mass Bias are going left from the bridge (i.e. on the left side of your thumb)

Is this correct?

Yes, I am a left handed bowler.  I'm not saying this is a bad piece of equipment, just so far for me, I haven't been able to see what others are seeing.  I just need to go throw some practice with it and then I'll probably change the surface.

I wasn't overly impressed my first time out either. Mine arrived with 4+ oz top weight. Went 50 x 3 x 50 with a HUGE P3 hole. Thought was 3" pin to pap for high flare since high int diff will retain the tilt. 1:1 ratio at 100* total to use on medium shots. Thought it would be quite aggressive but on THS and fresh Stone Street it didn't impress.

I'm 400 revs, 20 mph, 8* tilt, 60* rotation.

I'm trying it again tonight and bringing every Sia pad I own. Hope it just needs to be dialed in.

Just for fun, I put your info in to Storm's VLS and it spit out 3-1/4 x 6-1/2 x 2-1/2 which is around 85 x 3-1/4 x 53 in dual angle.

I think in real life application this ball is much stronger than it appears to be.  With that being said if a driller doesn't know the true strength of this core and cover and not know the person throwing the ball the driller can easily put too strong of a drill on it and make it look like poop.  I've see it happen all the time and not just with 900 balls either.

How many of you have read the USBC report of ball motion?  If you haven't its a great read and some of you may be surprised of their findings.

I went pin above the fingers, which normally gets the ball going long, but with good back end roll.  On this one, it doesn't get into that roll.

I thought pin over fingers was a pretty weak lay out?

The Network is definitely What i would call an oil ball. It needs oil in the heads. If you aren't seeing oil in the heads you aren't gonna get that big backend reaction everyone is seeing. I would recommend some polish maybe even extender if you really must use it on those conditions. Also nothing wrong with a 5" pin for 8* tilt. Go watch any asymm video with JustinWi on Motiv staff and he has a 3" pin and a 5" pin on just about every video and the 5" pin looks just fine compared to the 3" pins.......

Spider...Pin up can be weak it just depends on how much above you go and how close it gets to your VAL.  What was your final distance from pin to axis?

Hope things are good?  Haven't talked to you in a while?

I don't know what my PAP is or anything lol.  Things are good, bowling like crud, but what's new.  I am bowling with the Goop Boys on Tuesday nights.  Saw you were on the roster for a while there.

How are things going with you?

What? Who is drilling your stuff?  I was but to darn busy with my oldest boy.  He is bowling and playing baseball so that consumes so much time. Honestly I would rather watch him bowl or play baseball compared to me bowling myself. Besides that just living life and trying to survive.
