Black Ops
« on: October 30, 2015, 08:52:19 PM »
Got to drill and roll a Black Ops for the first time today. It's not often I come immediately to ballreviews to talk about a ball, but I had to with this one.

Layout is 50 x 5 1/4 x 40.
Tilt: 10
Rotation: 70
Revs: 375-400
Speed- 16-16.5 on screen (down lane)
Pap: 4 1/2 right, 3/4 up.

On my house's heavyish volume THS, this ball is something else. There wasn't much for midlane movement, but I could see the ball reading the midlanes well. Almost like it was setting itself up for a big turn at the breakpoint. I wouldn't quite say it was skid-snappy, but it gave me a really hard arcing backend motion. Plenty of recovery when I got it outside too far or too quickly. Hit and carry was impressive.

At the point, the only criticism I could possibly come up with, is referring to it as a "heavy oil" ball. It could be I think, with the right surface and layout, but out of the box I would say it's closer to medium-medium/heavy. That's looking for something I don't like about it though. To be honest, it's an excellent ball in my mind, and I'm really excited about throwing it more.

As a bonus, it's probably the best looking all black bowling ball I've ever seen :)

I really like my Einstein which is another reason I'm not drilling some of the newer stuff. It's a much more user friendly ball on most conditions for a hp ball vs the usual Super soakers in that price point.

The All In is a great looking ball. If I don't buy the Roto stuff I may try it next.

I'm shocked a ball that came out a few months ago is getting this much buzz. I drilled one up a few months ago and absolutely love it. The factory shine is a little much so hit the back flares with 500 to calm it down. A good comedown ball off this is the breakdown. Kinda give you the same midlane look without the backend motion.

I'm not too sure about that all in, a few 900 global staffers I've talked to haven't had anything too good to say about it. They have talked me out of that cause it won't make the corner. But they are liking the dark matter and have said it might be a little more ball than advertised. The dark matter might be another good comedown ball off the black ops.

This computer is so bad that it won't even let me upload the raw footage! So frustrating! I'll be at my dad's tomorrow and I'll throw something together and get it online.

As for the All In, I'm kind of intrigued by it. Honestly, it seems like I'll either totally love it, or totally hate it. I haven't really decided whether or not I'll pull the trigger on it yet. I will be buying a new Global, just not sure which one yet. Can't decide if I want to go above or below the Black Ops. I'd probably get more use out of something below it, but that's not nearly as fun and exciting is it? lol.

On one hand, I can see the Black Ops being a great option after opening up the lane a bit with a Dream Big or even a Respect with some surfcace. On the other hand, I can see the Break Down or Dark Matter being good to go to once the Ops starts getting a little iffy on me. Decisions, decisions.

IDK from what I've seen the all in doesn't look like it has a problem making the corner. Time will tell drilling up mine this week.

I tell ya they have a bunch of stuff that looks good, I just got a Night Hawk and going to get some 900 pieces, but AMF has some nice pieces as well. The Unreal looks very intriguing.

Ball above = Dream On. Ball is soooo sick.
Ball below = Dark Matter. Haven't even thrown one but it looks better.

I'm not too sure about the All In. There are cores I match up with, and ones I don't, and I don't think I match up with the Clockwork core.

Shout out for the Night Hawk SE and Encore. Night Hawk SE is so good.

Unreal... SRC core is one I match up with. I'll give a review of that one as soon as I can afford one lol.

Anyone ever notice that the All In, as well as the rest of the series, has a core that is reminiscent to the Jack core from the Revolver line for B? The numbers differ, but they mimic each other in shape. I found that intriguing after the whole Moxie/Inferno core shape.

Me too,  till I checked and it was used by global first on the Maniac

http://www.ballreviews.com/900global/maniac-t935.0.html

Did like that the Storm Joyride is using a classic Track core from some of the Heat and other lines like the Equation.

Ah, I hated the Maniac. I did love the Lunatic though, but it used a different core.

Hey guys, as a warning, there's no music, so check your volume so you're not deafened by bowling sounds once they start lol.

Also, I was going to put misses in, but once I edited them out, it was kind of hard to find them again! I missed 3 times. 2 flat tens, and a 3, 4, 6, 7 that I threw slow and inside...not a good combination lol.

Enjoy!

I would have believed that you threw 14 in a row. Just sayin.

I mean yeah, I didn't edit anything out...lol.

Thanks guys! It's not often I feel compelled to make a ball video. This one was a bit different. I can't wait to throw it again!
