break point pearl VS amf sideways
« on: October 17, 2009, 03:04:40 AM »
now with both balls being drilled the same and the cover prep being the same.. to the guys that have truely thrown "BOTH" of these balls, I ask which one will be cleaner through the front and stronger when it makes its turn??(want to use as a later games ball) I ask because both balls specs are very similar to each other and Iam curious will the core of the break point pearl, b/c it is asymmetrical will it be that big of a difference??

break point pearl/s73   rg 2.53  diff .o55  core/asymmetrical

amf sideways/f75        rg 2.56  diff .055  core/symmetrical

or should I really be looking for a particle pearl ball??

I have both balls and have found the Break Point Pearl to be considerably stronger down lane than the Sideways. No problen getting the bpp to face up, the Sideways has a tendancy to wiggle at the spot if the condition is not perfect carrydown will make my Sideways not so sideways. The name Sideways is not so indicative of this balls reaction shape. My Break Point Pearl is indeed smoother thru the fronts with a  strong backend reaction you can definely count on coming off the spot. The carry of the BPP is excellent also. slashr if you get it there it will do its part. Hope this helps you make your decision.

I have the BPP already but have not punched it up do to the fact that I have a break pearl.. when I got the break pearl I was told it would be very very strong making its turn and it ended up being earlier and more of a strong continuous move to the pocket.. a more specific conditional ball for me, not to say it is a bad ball b/c its not like that.. just don't use it that much.. the break pearl is drilled 5 X 4.75 X 2.5 so you would think it should be pretty angular.. so with that said Iam not sure how I would layout the BPP..

I would say the Sideways is cleaner through the front and stronger on the back, Break Point Pearl is a smoother pearl from my experience.

I used to use Storm exclusively before switching to Global/AMF and I would compare the BPP to a Gravity Shift and a Sideways to a Rapid Fire Pearl, I dont know if that helps you but its a little more info for comparing just incase.
