Break Point –vs- Bounty Series

Are the Break Points supposed to be more angular or lesser price is the only major difference?

Your thoughts?

Break point more angular off of the pattern.

Bounty more aggressive in the oil and supposed to be
less angular off of the pattern.

So, My main ball is a Hy-Road. Am a tweener. Have had the ball for about a year. Average about 212 in my only league on a THS ( about a 10-pin improvement with the Hy-Road, by the way).

I bowled in a PBA Ex league last summer and plan on bowling in a few more tournaments in 2010. My problem with the Hy-Road is in higher volumes of oil I lose patience waiting for it to do something.

Even in my normal League, I usually have to play down-and-in early in the series, later moving in as the outside heads dry out. The problem is always the second game, when I am transitioning from Down-and-In to Inside-Out.

I bowl best when I can start Inside-out and stay there. As the lanes break down, I could go to the Hy-Road, which does very well in "beat-up" conditions.

So I am looking for something with more oomph in general so that I can start inside-out as well as open up the lanes more when conditions require. And I would like something with a sharper break.

I was considering a Break Point, Break Point Pearl or a Bounty Hunter. I am looking at 900 global because I am not thrilled with the life expectancy of the strong storm balls and have not ever been thrilled with Ebonite.

Thanks for any advice.

I would say the safer bet is the Break Point. If there isn't the volume in the heads that is needed for the Bounty Hunter it will roll awful. IT is truly meant for heavy oil. If you see a consistent heavy volume in the front part of the lane then the Bounty Hunter will actually roll very well.I just would hate to see you buy one and not be happy because the ball is rolling out and you don't like it. For instance the league I bowl in on Friday nights is fresh oil and the Bounty Hunter just rolls out by the arrows there. Where as my original Break hooks circles around the BH at this house.

I have used the hyroad and break point pearl.

I did not like the hyroad.  For me, it seemed not to do
anything real great.

The break point pearl revs up for me much better and is much
more angular off of the spot.  The hyroad wanted to grab
the lane too soon and did not rev up.  But, the hyroad
is a hybrid cover stock.
