BTM Aug issue
« on: July 29, 2009, 08:13:23 AM »
Just looked through the BTM August issue and on the 2009 at-a-glance page I noticed an interesting pattern. Just wondering if anyone else picked up on it.

I see a few things now that I have gone thru my issue...

#1...there are a lot of balls coming thru with 2000 and 4000 grit Abralon finishes

#2...I am seeing the high end balls are slated mostly for oil. The midpriced balls are more suited for medium conditions and the lower priced balls are geared mostly for lighter conditions.

#3...The Bounty Hunter is a tremendous ball on all but the lightest of oil.

The only thing that stuck out at me was that they finally gave a 17 backend rating to a couple balls.  I think the max they had ever reviewed a ball for previously was 16.5 but I could certainly be wrong.

FOr whatever it's worth, I think the Track Kinetic & the RG Odyssey had a 17 for the backend.

Phil must be on vacation. Seven days and no response stating what he noticed.

I wish I were on vacation, was doing the Trade show route. Just to let you know, I got a PM with the correct answer. SkipH knows the answer. Maybe he will tell you what he noticed.
Thanks

I've been checking in on this thread since it was posted hoping to find out the answer.  It's bad enough you don't say anything for almost two weeks, but when you finally do show up you just say somebody else knows and if we're lucky he might tell us?

In my book, that's being a class "A" asshole.

Very classless response. I have been on the road for 2 weeks thank you.If you don't like the game we are playing take your ball and go home. No one else seems to mind. Let SkipH post the answer and get the accolades or if you can read look it up yourself. They really don't use big words.

Didn't see your response before I sent mine. So whatever you said is better than what I wrote.

I'm guessing the answer is no one really reads BTM, they just look at the pics and set it aside.

I am still curious as to the answer to the question also... and what happened to the original replies, anyway?

That in the High RG column, they are not taking all the numbers to the hundredth
only to the tenth.
