Difference between the AMF Mega Recovery and the 900 Global S-75
« on: February 01, 2011, 12:04:50 PM »
Greetings all!

I have just purchased a AMF Mega Recovery and a 900G S-75 for an awesome price.  I have had the S-75 before and wondered how similiar would the Mega Recovery be?

Thanks for your help!

Mike

I have had both balls and you will find that the Mega Recovery is a much much stronger ball. The Mega is the most hook and most continuation in the back that I have ever encountered. Even though the Mega comes at 1000 grit it is the only ball that I have seen that doesn't burn up when the lanes are a little drier. This is my all time favorite ball and I buy a lot of balls per year. This ball is a strokers dream come true. I have three of them, box,4000, and 4000 with polish. The one I took up to 4000 abralon is only 3 boards weaker than the one in box. I wasn't impressed with the S-75 at all. Mine are drilled pin up, pin down, and pin to the right of the ring finger with the cg kicked to the right on all of them.

Well I haven't thrown the Mega Recovery so I don't know about it. Had the Mega Friction and it just rolled out on me on everything but floods....The s75 was the strongest ball front to back I may have ever thrown. It just flat out hooked for me. It was drilled something like 40x3.5x60. But I never had a ball like the s75, its the ball that got me hooked on 900G. It might be the only ball I have ever had that I had 100% confidence in making a move with and knew it would still hook. Take it for what its worth but, according to Mo Pinel and his research, the s75 cover is a "super cover" and the only one made by 900G making it the strongest cover they have made......

Thanks for the info guys!

I was hoping the Mega Recovery was stronger as plan on making that my big oiler.  The S75 has a nice long pin and think will double thumb it and touch of polish to go under it and about my Favorite.

Even polished it will be alot more ball than the Favorite. S75 is a VERY strong ball. I would say maybe its mis-numbered. Its gonna flare alot with a double thumb.

I dont have the mega recovery, but I do have the S75.  I dont have a ton of hand, but I can throw the S75 20-25 out to 10ish and have it come back.  It's still the biggest hook out of any ball I own.  Pin in down w/ mb kicked out a bit, so it's drilled strong too.  Wish I would have had this thing drilled to store a lil more energy for the back ends.
