freight train?
« on: January 16, 2013, 09:10:25 AM »
Love the ball overall haven't had a chance to throw it on heavy oil yet but will today. Just wondering if anyone has had success with higher grits on drier lanes.

The Freight Train is S77 at at E pad (1500 grit). That's a strong cover and a low grit (Nowadays). If you take it to a T pad (4000 grit), it will get down the lane better, but there is no way I can see the Freight Train being an option on "dryer" lanes. Maybe medium to heavy at the very least.

Yeah I meant medium I was just referring to drier than the place I normally bowl I worded it wrong. I just need a little more length so I can hit the pocket. I tend to hit the head pin or miss slightly left.

Yeah, personally, at 1500 grit, you need a flood to keep it right. I took my Train from 1500 to 4000 + polish to make it playable.

I personally can't wait to drill one. I love the look of the move. More on the back than the Train, but still smooth. Just not too smooth.

for oil on league shot 4000 works great on the freight it to me is a better ball then the bullet at least for league play
i found out the dirtylook  is much stronger then advertised and it just kills the house shots
just my 2 cents

This Ball was the best deal i have ever gotten. I paid 120 for it with drilling and finger tip grips. It was used and had only five games on it plugged and resurfaced. it belonged to the proshop owner and was a demo ball for him. I cant wait to throw a 300 with it.

my bullet was laid out with pin up and and right of ring with cg and mb all in line not the most aggressive drill.but knowing what i read about the ball should have been plenty strong
i didnt drill this ball myself or even lay it  just yold them over the ph,
weighed it out yesterday for my self and its got thumb weight, now that im pissed about it i sold it
will try another one before nationals, but the new war eagle is for real

Mine is pin under bridge with cg kicked out a inch right and up over my thumb. The ball is a beast i will be taking the cover to 4000 in the morn as i dont see enough volume to have it at 2500 with my rev rate.

I don't mean to sound like a pompous jerk, but who cares about thumb weight? It doesn't matter one bit in a ball nowadays.

Thumb weight...only ever heard that term spoken in regards to the old 3-piece urethane balls i.e Blue urethane Gyro my first fingertip ball...kinda wish I still had it, def would have come in handy on certain patterns for me.
