Hook Monster and Pure Hook
« on: May 10, 2013, 05:57:12 PM »
Both these balls are unbelievable, they hit the pins super hard and throw messangers around all night long!!  the Pure Hook pearl is a S-77 cover and the Hook Monster is a S-73. I know these balls don't get talked about much because they are over seas balls but are still USBC approved  ;)  if your able to find either 1 of these balls you'll want to get it and have it in your bag. ( hard for me to take them out of my bag now )  they both read the mid lane very well and have a ton of movement on the back end on either med to heavy oil patterns.  I think the Pure Hook out hooks the War on the back end easy :)  the Hook Monster is pretty close to being the same as the war  but the weight block makes this ball a beast.   8)

IN the bag for me now on a sport shot summer league will be

  Break Pearl  S-70
  Break Point  S-73
  Rip/IT  S-55
  Pure Hook  S-77
  Hook Monster  S-73
  Bank of 900 pearl  S-70
Bullet Train  S-79 ( my spare ball )

I'm sure at the end of the month these will change up a little do to the new balls coming out soon for 900 GLOBAL  :)
If you want it, go after it and make it happen.  If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourself....or maybe your just not throwing the right equipment  :)

If I could get my hands on a nib Hook Monster, I would. Seems like 900/AMF is pulling the old cores. Hook Monster = Velocity core, and the new Incinerate is the Radar Lock core, upside down. Nick mist be busy designing something awesome!

one thing that was missed in describing the pure hook
is that the s-77 cover is a PEARL,
with a strong core , which makes it like a pearl version of the freight train

Fusion, Velocity. Either way, I love that core. I would actually drill the Pure Hook then. I had a Velocity and Maximum Velocity. They were awesome!

i must agree with you  id drill up a pure hook as well
just wish they at global would think like we bowlers a bit and make some more pure hooks for the masses here in the states instead of produceing them for overseas

I bowl tomorrow night for sweepers and then start my summer league on tuesday.. Looking forward to throwing both these balls now all summer and see how they work for me :) finished the winter with a 234 and I am going for 240 on this new sport shot there putting out  for this summer league. I will see much more oil and these 2 balls need OIL for sure :)  I was able to get PX's last Hook Monster he had available.. not sure there are any left sitting around. Thats to bad too :(

only a 743 on sweepers tonight  ???  the Pure Hook was a beast  8)  i left 5 solid 9 pins tonight and 2 7-10 splits and i was still happy with the out come over all.. like Ive said before  This pure HOOK is a 1 of a kind ball and they have not made anything close to it.  IM really looking forward to tomorrow night now with adding the Hook Monster as a 1 - 2 punch.

I kinda figured I would seems how ive been practicing on these patterns for 2 weeks now :)

227 228 229 with 1 open on the shark pattern this week with both the pure hook and Hook monster,  I used the Pure hook on the odd lane and Hook Monster on the even all night long :)  only had to make tiny moves through out the evening.  cant wait to use whats coming out next :)  for I'm sure they've done there home work once again and will all be happy to all see whats next to go in our bags ::)

What layout did you use on the Pure Hook? What ball in the current lineup would you compare it to? I had a Fusion Hook Monster that used this core and the Victory series that replaced the Fusion line that used the same core. I realize the coverstock will be the biggest difference and they used particle coverstocks and different reactive coverstocks. I'm thinking it would be similar to The Look and stronger than the Break Point pearl. Thanks in advance on the comments, Bruce
P.S. I have a Pure Hook on the way is why I'm asking!!
