How do they determine if a ball is a color blem??
« on: November 05, 2009, 07:46:47 AM »
I am asking because I am surprised my BH isn't a color blem. It is all black except for one big splatter of the white. It seriously looks like a bird took a crap on one side of the ball and that is it. Just don't see how some of the color blems I have seen are and this one isn't.....

Some companies are a little more liberal with what they consider a color blem than others.

The Bounty Hunter is supposed to be a two color ball and apparently 900G felt that since yours predominantly black, a customer may not have wanted to pay full price for it.

Wow, that sure is odd/blem looking. Well, if you're satisfied with the way it rolls, i'm sure it's not killing you, yet I can see where you question its' quality. I heard it's a good ball for a few people who have drilled one! Very strong.

not to change the subject but I have had a few Clutches that look similar, where most of the yellow was on the bottom half of the ball with just "small bird spatter" yellow on the top half that were still marked 1sts.

My personal Clutch has a large yellow area on the bottom with "fingers moving towards the top of the ball, the top is 85% blue, and a few crescent shape yellow areas on the sides and top, but it doesn't keep the ball from hooking. It makes it look quite unique.

Been in the plant and on the "line" several times, not sure who makes the calls when it comes to color blems. Most I have seen are clearly a 2 color ball, one have totally differs from the other.

There is a difference between a "color blem" and a pattern that didn't come out exactly correct.  Sounds like you got the right colors, just got a weird pattern,..

You could at least spring for the plug and grips too cheapskate....

quote:
Wow, that one is pretty.

Can you please plug and drill with clear Vise inserts 51/64 and 47/64, and a Black 1 3/8th thumb slug cut @39degrees .118 wide with a 57/64th starting drillbit.

Thumb at 1/8threv-0lat, fingers at 3/8ths and 7/16ths reverse, 3/8ths both ways. Span at 4 19/32nds and 4 23/32nds.

I''ll pay shipping to Australia, and bevel the thumb on my own. I''d also like to glue the grips in myself

THANKS!
