is my bank dead
« on: January 30, 2011, 10:48:00 PM »
I really dont use it all that much, butIi do have a pretty noticeable track area. I may have 50 complete games on it and I dont use it much because it really isnt a super versatile ball. Just when I think I have it figured out,I loose my reaction. Couple of weeks ago I tricked of a 300 and since then its a 10 pin over under monster that just lopes aimlessly down the lane with no intent of carry if it hits the pocket. It is usually the strongest ball in my bag and I only use it when nothing else is moving, now its the same as the other balls,it doesnt move either. It has a very small flare pattern and its potential for moving more than 5 boards is suspect at best, but at least i could depend on it to move those five and carry. I am gonna soak it and have it taken back to 4000 to see if it helps,I had it at 2000 because it wasnt moving and that seemed to help, but it didnt last long.

You probably need to do a hot water bath. I do them on my high end equipment no less than every 40 games but I try to do it every 25. High end stuff will suck up oil like a sponge.

Yeah mine did the same after about 40 games. Put it in a revivor and it came right back. I would recommend a revivor over hot water bath. I personally feel a hot water bath only gets a portion of the oil out. In a revivor you can tell when the oil is out as it will stop bleeding. I also use Motiv power scuff on mine every three sets and it seems to keep it in peak performance for a longer period of time....Since I got the Bank pearl tho mine only sees the lanes for the first game in a half in my Friday league....

thanks guys,I am happy to say after soaking,(actually steam cleaning),the ball came back to life. I was using it and my trap just to see where the lanes were and the bank made the lanes look like cake, and the trap made the lanes look like a calc equation.

I have a pot with a team plate inside,I put the water in the bottom of the pot and sit the ball on top of the steam plate so the ball only gets steam heat no water contact this works the best for me and its much cheaper then the revitalizer.

My Bank did the same as yours, starting to become weaker after 40-50 games. But after a nice hot water bath and bringing it back to its surface it was just like it was when it came out of the box!
This is one of my personal favorites about Global balls, the may lose their reaction as fast as the balls from other brands, but I am able to bring them back to life over and over again. I tried it with a Virtual Gravity and a original Cell, but once their "out of box" reaction was gone, it was gone forever.

Mine seemed to be losing reaction also but after 10-12 games or so. I was going to get rid of it but after sitting over at the pro shop for 3 weeks and no bites I decided to keep it. I took it back up to 4000 in steps and cleaned it with clean and dull and it has been working fine. I have had several 700's and the ball has been carrying fine. For me this is a heavier oil ball that is very smooth and works best down and in. The ball is not one that I can move way in and belly out because of the earlier roll and smooth backend. I am glad I decided to keep it and in comparison with a 916 AT which I bought to replace it with, the Bank works much better for me. I also just got a Raw Profit but haven't been able to use it yet because it is hooking way to early, I will try a little polish to see if that helps.

no its not dead,by a long shot in faqct its head and shoulders above everything I have and have thrown. I gave it a steam bath and it really came back to life.I picked up a lane 1 chainsaw massaqcre because bowling ball .com gave it a 218 on their perfect scale and the bank only got a 210.I thought this would mean it would be stronger, that was clearly not the case, either the rating is way off or the lower the number the better, cause the lane 1 ball doesnt come close to the bank. It cant even play the break down that I was using my bank on.  am so dissapointed, again. nother 150 wasted on a dud ball.
