layout - the look
« on: August 27, 2012, 08:36:52 AM »
Any comments/experiences with drilling The Look yet?  Bought one for use as my "go-to" league ball this year and getting ready to put holes in it soon.

Thanks!

What kind of reaction are you looking for, S^2?

Was more asking whether the ball seemed to roll better with certain layouts (although its very subjective depending on who's throwing it).   Remember reading that the karma pearls seem to roll/react better with stronger pin positions....  Made me think of asking...

Anyways, probably looking for length with a smoother backend

Every Look (And Nuts) I've seen is pretty strong on the back end. With the numbers, I would say you could get length no problem, but would want to put the MB closer to the track to smooth out the back end, or rough up the surface.

If you're looking for length with smooth backend, you could go with the Wisdom pearl or the Cobra SE. Wisdom is going to be weaker then the SE, due to the coverstock being weaker.

Drilled mine 80 x 4.75" x 25 and it is exactly what you are asking for. Good length smooth controllable backend. Actually the Looks I have seen have looked pretty controllable off the spot. Not really the sideways reaction I kind of expected with that cover/core combo.
