Link drill help
« on: April 19, 2009, 01:33:54 PM »
Gonna drill my Link I won in the bracket challenge tomorrow. Was gonna drill it pin above ring or bridge. Around 4 1/2-5" to PAP. However it is a short pin. So not sure what to do...maybe pin under and a little left of the middle finger, or pin in the middle finger??

My PAP is 4 3/8 over 3/8 down. I want good length for light oil and not too snappy.

I have a Jazz that is basically pointless cause it goes straight left and not really that lengthy. And if there is oil in the middle forget it. However that ball is pin under bridge about 4 1/4" to axis.

I want some length but I don't want that uncontrollable backend that the Jazz has. I was thinking about using it to go straighter on the fresh and stay near the friction when they break down.

Send it back and get a longer pin!  Whats the top weight on the ball and how short is the pin?  Do you use inserts?  If you want length, I wouldn't go with pin under.  Depending on the answers to the above you may be able to drill pin high.

Everything I've read is that the Link is stronger than expected.  If you are having issues controlling a Jazz I wouldn't drill a Link the same way.

Only 2oz of top weight?  I would drill it for length like you would any other ball.  If you want to put the pin above the fingers, I don't see why you can't do that.  If you need to remove extra finger weight, drill the fingers a little deeper.  2oz is very manageable.

Is negative MB a good idea to get it to lay off a little??
