Lunatic??? Anyone???
« on: July 25, 2009, 01:34:23 PM »
Just curious if anyone has drill one up. I haven't heard much of anything on this ball. I just drilled up a BPP and need a ball to bump down to when it's to much. Thinking bout ordering one along with a Bounty Hunter this week...

today i will test mine and post a review later. mine is drilled pin below fingers with polish on it for those dry conditions. so where i bowl there never put any oil out on weekends it will be a true test for the dry conditions. high hopes for this ball if all goes well will be making more 900 global purchases in the future.

ok heres a mini review. bowled three games first two kept alternating between my pyscho and lunatic. third all lunatic. with set up i have on it know it will be great for dry conditions. down and in to get strikes if i swung the ball even a little hard time getting ten in the pit. kept leaving singles pins so the ball is deffinatly what i was looking for. so if your having a hard time using it on dry i say go ahead and add some polish. you wont be dissapointed.

be careful with the lunatic i drilled mine on 7/17 basic pin above fingers and cg straight down in the center line. i drilled the break point pearl a few days before and it is layed out with a mod rico pin moved 3/4" up. now the lunatic goes longer and is stronger by far, a very skid flip almost violent now i will say with a movement like that you would normally leave alot of 10 pins but this ball hits like a champ does not have the hitting power as the BPP but still hits strong. and don't think that this ball only hooked more b/c i was on a house shot i put it on the usbc nationals shot and my BPP could not cut through the oil like the lunatic would, and don't think its b/c i have a mod rico on my BPP b/c we tried other BPP and they were stronger but not like the lunatic.

stroked298, I think you need a Bounty Hunter. That is a hook monster. BTW, wonder what a BPP would do with the JA layout? Didn't mean to hijack the thread, just giving Mr. 298 a hard time...

Well part of the difference in strength might be the Lunatic being a solid vs the BPP. The other thing is pin above the ring vs. a mod. Rico is going to give you a much different reaction downlane. The Rico drillis gonna make you square up a little more than a pin up drilling so to me that sounds like it would be the case.

well we have also drilled other BPP some with pin above and some with pin below pretty much anywhere for a 4" to 5" from pap and either way the lunatic is going to go longer and be stronger.

Not saying I don't believe you just surprising to hear that the Lunatic is stronger in the back than the BPP with how strong I hear that ball is in the back part of the lane. Possible carrydown issues?? I could see the Lunatic handling carrydown better than the BPP because its a solid.

I also have seen this, the Lunatic is stronger than the BPP. On a house shot and at the USBC Nationals. Either way, they both are good pieces. Great job 900 Global.

As far as on carry down the lunatic is still going to bend around the corner but yes the BPP, i could see it being better on carry down. As far as a house shot goes or even a fresh sport pattern like the kegel's the lunatic is going to out hook the BPP.

Just recently tried both on kegel's dead mans curve and both rolled alot more but the lunatic still was just a strong as being on a ths, its amazing what the ball can do.
