Moxie is all that and then some
« on: October 01, 2014, 11:32:39 AM »
I started last night in practice where I always line up from the week before and I has a serious problem even coming close to the pocket.  the problem was it was crossing over every ball  LMAO  this ball is a beast with out a doubt. I had to move way left  standing 37 and had to throw at the 13 board  with 19MPH speed just to hit the pocket with this ball. I drilled it PIN over ring finger and just a tad kicked to the right.  The dual angle drill ended up being   39 X 5 3/4 X 30   you are going to need some oil if your wanting to throw this ball thats for sure but it is a muct ball to have in your arsenal thats for sure. I have a feeling this ball is going to be a BIG hit for nationals in 2015.   I had to put the ball away in the 5th frame in the 2nd game because it was just breaking way to hard on the backend and the angle sucked as well leaving 4 straight 10 pins to start the 2nd game  1st game I did have a 257 staring with the front 5 strikes before I left 2 solid 9 pins back to back.
If you want it, go after it and make it happen.  If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourself....or maybe your just not throwing the right equipment  :)

This ball is definitly a heavy oil ball. drilled 5"pin . This ball really pushes through the fronts and picks up in the midlane with a strong heavy roll. If you have slow ball speed you will definitly need to use a weaker drill pattern. I can use this ball for about a game and half on a house pattern. Haven`t had a chance to use it on a sport condition with heavy oil but I am sure it will be the first ball out of the bag. Great ball for bowlers with high ball speed.

Yes, Its a great ball for bowlers with 18+ MPH ball speed.  I have not been able to throw this ball much after the 1st game and a half do to it just starts setting up to soon and the more I swing it the more I leave 10 pins. I was able to throw this over the weekend on a PBA pattern  (the shark) and it worked really well, I bowled 4 games and my low was 235 and high was 278 with a 1016 4 game set.  its a great ball to start your 1st game thats for sure. need to drill up a second 1 now with a weaker layout so once the fisrt 1 starts over hooking I will then be able to go to the weaker drill and should not miss a beat.. great Job on the Moxie 900Global ;)

Threw the Moxie again to start the night off and in the 1st game and went 259 with a solid 10 pin in the second frame and a 7 pin in the 8th frame   was able to continue to throw it in the 2nd game tonight and it was hooking more as the deeper I got into the 2nd game and went 229 clean  and finished the 3rd game with only a 7 pin in the 2nd frame a 10 pin in the 8th frame and a solid 9 pin on the last fill ball for a 258 and was clean for the night. had at least 10 guys come over from the league next to us and ask me what ball I was throwing ( they all though it was a storm ball ) they was very shocked when I told them its 900 Globals newest ball out right now, the Moxie.. by there reaction IM sure i will see a few more of these in the up coming week.  Great job 900 Global ;)

I'm throwing about 19-20 mph, but my revs are 250-300.  Could this ball be right for me on heavy oil where my ball usually just goes straight like plastic?

i throw over 18 on every ball and as the lanes dry i tend to get over 19MPH and have well over a 500 rev rate. how did you drill yours UP?  Mine is laid out 39 X 5 3/4 X 30 and its a beast  but at least my ball speed helps this ball get down the lane further before it snaps like crazy.  send me an PM and ill see if I can help you out with this ball to get it working right for you.

I'm sorry.  I see I didn't word that well.  I'm considering getting the Moxie.  My current ball, Hammer Amp, goes straight like plastic when the oil is heavy.  I end up throwing at the 3-5 boards to find some friction and then I have to be perfect or miss the pocket.  So I'm I very interested in something that would be more appropriate for both my condition and the lane's condition.

Obviously having more revs would fix the problem but I'm just not there yet in my bowling proficiency.

Does the moxie have a particle cover? It sounds like a terminal velocity.

I was going to ask this. The Dig coverstock certainly sounds like a particle name.

Per TJ, no particle load.

Just got a report from my friend and PSO, he's been on staff since the beginning. Says it might be better than the Break. That's mighty big talk. Now I'm forced to get one.

I am so sorry...
Ratt, if your AMP isn't hooking, a Moxie will totally be a step up in total oil handling capability.

I dont think that the Moxie is stronger or better then the org Break soild. its close but not as strong.  My break covers more boards on the backend by at least 3-4 boards over the moxie with both balls drilled the same way.( the BREAK Solid is just 1 bad azz ball and its all black which makes it even stronger )   the moxie is still a very aggressive ball thats for sure. Doom you wont be disappointed in the Moxie if you get 1, I guess everyone has there own opinion on every ball that comes out ( a staffer is supose to push there line are they not? )  new or old. :)  been with them from day 1 as well and IM not a staffer.  900 Global has put out many great balls over the years and I hope that continues doing so with whats to come., This Makes there equipment easier to sell over other brands thats for sure. lets see what is to come out still in 2014  and then see what they decide to do about the up coming 2015 season. cant wait to here all the good news with in the next 2 months  ;)

Well, my friend is a staffer, but he's my friend first. He's not going to BS me when it comes to ball reaction. I've thrown a couple of SA balls, and know what works for my game, and he does as well. We've both run our own pro shops, and when he's as hyped about a ball as this, I'm inclined to believe it. Truth in advertising.

Agreed, this ball is very good! I won't dare to throw on a THS, but for tournament patterns, its money.

id much rather sell someone a dream (or a Dream ON) over a moxie, At least I know the person will be able to throw it on a THS every week for all 3 games and not sell the person a Moxie knowing hes only going to be able to throw it maybe 1 complete game and have to put it away.. to me it a no brainer.  like I said before, It is a great ball for heavier oil patterns or longer patterns, just not a ball your going to use all three games on your THS  which over 80% of the bowlers in the U.S. are bowling on if not with lesser oil.   ill sell more dreams then ill sell moxies thats for sure which is not a bad thing no matter how you look at it  :)  then again ill sell more all days and all nights because there better suited for your avg bowlers and the prices are more reasonable.
