need a quick answer to dirty look ?
« on: January 12, 2013, 10:46:45 AM »
i posted this yesterday on another thread, but just need a quick knowledgable answer.  I have not throw a dirty look, or any other 900 global product.  i throw storm/rotogrip.  i like the specs of the dirty look, i throw 14 lb equipment.  i like a little higher rg as i bowl on overlays.  i drill all my stuff pin up.  the question, i throw a reign and a dark star right now, and they are both box at 1500 grit polished.  what is the s73 pearl?  i mean what is the finish compared to in terms of grit?  thanks

Your answer is on that page. For what its worth the dirty look in terms of reaction is gonna be close to the nano pearl. Probably will be a hair longer and more continuous but similar amount of boards covered from my experience with the 2.....

There is no easy answer for this...

In fact the 1500 grit polished finish you're used to from Storm isn't necessarily arrived upon by finishing the ball to 1500 grit and then polishing it.

Factory finishes are next to impossible to recreate, but with practice one can get close enough for most bowler.

When 900 Global makes a pearl the finish is almost always listed as "polished". Typically when there is a solid counterpart, the pearl usually is the same surface grit as the solid. Being that the Look is at a "T-Pad" (~4K abralon), I would think it is safe to say the Dirty Look is at the same surface with at "T-Pad" as well. I do not own the ball, but some others here that have one would be able to verify as it should be stamped on the ball. To be on the safe side, you could always send an email to 900 Global and ask. I guarantee you will have a reply very soon. Hope this helps your decision.

It comes polished btw....not a t pad. Jmac gave a good answer to what that means. But the link i gave gives you an idea about how to come close to recreating that.

Well I just got my Dirty Look and I also have a Storm Reign.

My Reign is stronger as far as total hook, but the Dirty Look has much more length, with good backend movement. It allows me to play a much more straighter line to the pocket.
